Elements:
Shine: One couple spotlighted on floor
All-skate: All couples within a given heat sharing the floor simultaneously.

Couples are expected to recognize phrasing and are held accountable for entering and exiting their shines as timing requires. Musical phrasing is varied and includes Standard and Blues song forms.

Format:
ROUND 1 - Friday, Oct 8th
All-Skate: up to 50 couples dance 1-4 songs in heats, during which judges will identify 15 couples to progress to the semi-finals.

ROUND 2 - Friday, Oct 8th
Semi-Finals: 15 couples dance 2-3 songs, both shines and all skates, during which judges will identify 6 couples to progress to the finals.

FINAL ROUND - Saturday, Oct 9th
Finals: Winners of the semi-finals will battle in a series of shines and all-skates. Jumpin' at the Woodside will be the final song of the competition and will be played live by the Frank Foster's big band. The winning couple will be selected by a panel of six former Harvest Moon Ball champions.

Miscellaneous:

    There are no rules regarding men or women leading and following. Anyone can lead and anyone can follow.
    There are no rules about "swing content".
    There are no disqualifications.
    Music will range in tempo from 180bpm to 300bpm.
    The Judges for the finals will probably care how you're dressed even if you don't.
