It was William (Count) Basie who established swing as one of jazz's predominant styles; his contribution to the music and the dance is immeasurable. We are very privileged to have Count Basie's most trusted composer and arranger, Mr. Frank Foster and his 12-piece band be the musical mainstay of this event. In the spirit of reuniting the music with the dance, the band will also feature a very special all-star collection of Count Basie Orchestra veterans and other jazz greats who will be joining Mr. Foster's ensemble to pay tribute to Basie and his music.

Count Basie Orchestra alumni performing include:

Clark Terry (1948-51)
Frank Foster (1953-64)
Frank Wess (1953-64)
Joe Wilder (1954)
Benny Powell (1952-63)
Irene Reid (1961-62)
Dennis Rowland (1977-84)

These veterans, along with Frank Foster's Swing Plus Band and other jazz greats such as Junior Mance, Earl May and Barbara Morrison have all come together to give us with an amazing night of swing in honor of the master, Count Basie.
