Welcome to Yehoodi! If you are new to our community, feel free to give us a short intro here, including where you hearken from in the world, how you found us, and anything else you'd like us to know! We just launched the latest version of our web software, Yehoodi 3.0 (sorta beta.) So if…

Hey guys! My name is Hannah, and I'm new. I actually just found this site like 6 minutes ago from the Wiki article on Lindy Hop. I was like "Yehoodi? What in the...?" :)
I'm from Illinois, and I started swing dancing about a year and a half ago. I love it!! Lindy and Bal are my favorites, but I enjoy all of it. I used to do Ballet and Tap in high school, but when I found swing dancing I knew I was home.
Soooo... greetings! I wonder if anyone I know is lurking around here...

Hello! I'm from New York and started swing dancing last September. I have been contemplating joining Yehoodi for a few months now but never got around to making an account until recently.
I frequent Fram, but I'm definitely excited for being in the city this summer and branching out. I have had a wonderful experience swing dancing thus far, and I look forward to the opportunity to continue to meet people and, of course, to dance!

Hello out there. My name is Joe and I hail from the little city of Adelaide in Australia. Lindy Hopping is swiftly becoming my life so after hearing about this site from a friend, thought I might expand my horizons so I could find out what is happening in all the places I plan to visit soon. I look forward to meeting everybody!

Hey Yehoodi. My name is Lindsay and I have been reading the forum for quite some time but just joined recently. I am from 'the southeast' so to speak. Currently, I live in Atlanta balancing the life of a middle school teacher and a Lindy Hopper. I have been dancing since 2002 which is neither relevant to this post or determines anything about my quality of dancing. I just know that I am passionate about Lindy Hop and the music from which it came.
I try to travel as much as I can during the summer, which is my favorite thing to do - besides using unnecessary dashes in my sentences and swinging out.

Hello, I am a student living and studying in NJ. I got into Lindy Hop about a year ago at my university's swing dancing club.
I found Yehoodi when looking at swing shoe possibilities and found out about shoe chroming. I actually joined to try and purchase some chrome leather from users here. I am attending LaBLove in January and would to chrome my shoes before then. (I have found a local cobbler already)
Where do you suggest I ask about buying leather from other users?
I did read shoe and floor relationships by fiftynites but the wholesaler is most likely not going to be available this holiday week. I guess I'm looking into this later than I should have...

Usually they have a name like 'blah blah blah Fabric Outlet'. Or, you could just go to a regular fabric store. Also, I think that the leather that tailors use to put on elbow patches for jackets are good, from what I've heard.
I'm not an expert, so I can't tell you what to look for in your leather...uncolored suede (or hard leather) is all I can tell you.

Hello! I've been dancing for about a year and a half now, starting in NJ (and, of course, taking occasional trips to Philly and NYC), but since then have moved to the faraway land of Tennessee and latched onto the Knoxville swing dance scene.
In my quest for procrastination, I found a series of blogs about the role of a follow and a few of them led me to specific discussions on this site. Seeing this site as an opportunity to widen my swing dance knowledge without having to commute or spend money, and also widen my swing dance "scene", if you will, without having to leave my current town, how could I do anything but join?

Welcome, Reeberry!
Knoxville is great. I lived there briefly, and within a couple hours drive for a few years, and the people there are sweethearts and fun to dance with... you also have Asheville, Nashville, and Atlanta not so far off, as well!
Say hi to the southeast for me :)

Well, I never said hi, so I do now.
I've danced Lindy for less than a year and a half and I'm already (NOT) better than you.
I'm from and on the other side of the pond, living in Barcelona, and have met at least two yehoodites (one in Herrδng, before I knew about this site, and another this New Year's Eve).
Don't remember how I found this, probably procrastinating at work looking for more Lindy information.
I dance Lindy Hop, Bollywood, Charleston/Jazz Steps/Authentic Jazz (I can't tell the difference, if any, yet) and I'll be starting tap now. I love to compete, just for the thrill of it.
And this year I'm a member of the BCNswing's committee, an over ten year-old non-profit association (independent from the Lindy schools) that tries to keep the swing scene thriving in Barcelona. Veteran dancers tend to let newcomers do that work.
So if you need info about Barcelona, feel free to ask. Right now there's at least a dance almost everyday, so come visit the city whenever you want.
dancing in korea is AMAZING!! I highly recommend it!! My opinion is a bit biased because I have only ever danced here in Korea, but I have heard from multiple sources that it is the place to be in the world, if you ever decide to come out here, hit me up bro!

Hello everyone! Figured I should introduce myself here before posting anywhere else...
My name is Amanda and I'm a swing dancer from Toronto. I started dancing almost two years ago, but sort of did it only on and off for the first year. In the past few months I have definitely been getting more involved with it, taking both lindy hop and charleston lessons as well as the occasional workshop on solo jazz, collegiate shag, etc. I dance somewhere between 2 and 5 times a week now.
I joined Yehoodi to try and find places to dance when I am traveling this summer, as I don't want to completely stop for a month while I travel around Europe and different locations in Canada.

Welcome! Try a fabric outlet. When I chromed my shoes nearly 10 years ago, that's where I found some nice suede.

Fabric outlet like a rag shop type thing? And is there a specific type of chrome leather (suede) to be looking out for?
Thanks!

Have danced swing (somehow got started on lindy, bal and shag all at the same time) since... summer 2007 I think!
I DJ every now and then. I run a blog for the nascent scene in Bristol, UK (cough http://bristolswingdancers.blogspot.com/ cough)
