Post here stuff you would like to be able to do on the new Yehoodi 3.0! What new features would you like to see that would make your experience here that much better?

Is there an ignore feature?? Please say yes.
(Lately I haven't had time for much of anything, Y3.0 included, so sorry if there's info on this already somewhere, but I did take a second to look and found nothing.)

ok maybe I am not getting this but I like when the topics refresh in order by the last post. When I change the setting to last I looked only like two or three threads come up and I can't go back. If I add to an older thread no one seems to know that it is active and then the conversation stops. I like how the old yehoodi the topics would stay in order of activity.
The new yehoodi does that too. You can use the sort options "since last login" and "last 30 days" to look at what people are currently talking about on yehoodi.

This was touched upon in other threads, but a more customizable calendar would be nice. Like, not set by time away, but by distance, or region, or country (like if I could put in 'Italy' or 'Switzerland', etc), and also so that we don't have to click or hover over the day...like how the format on lindyexchange.com, for example, has the events listed under each day so you can see the month in a glance.
That's my only 'biggie' that I'd like to see. Thanks for requesting that we make requests!

(1) The ability to hide our profile (or at least keep our name from showing up on the dashboard/front page under "users"). We could do this on 2.0
(2) If we're browsing and we're not signed in, we're prompted to sign in to comment - clicking on that button takes you to the dashboard after signing in, rather than back to the page you were viewing. It would be nice if after signing in, we were taken back to the page we were last browsing.
(3) After posting a comment, you are returned to the first post/page in a thread. It would be nice after posting a comment to be returned to the last comment/last page in the thread.

I mentioned it in beta-testing, and I'll echo what others are saying here. It is much more useful to have recent activity (last viewed, 30 days etc.) be tied to the time/date of the last comment made, not when the thread was created.
I personally can't think of a scenario when I would need to view topics by date submitted.

Totally a pie in the sky request, but the ability to link (permalink) to a post, rather than just "reply" (within a thread) would be great. That way you could direct someone's attention in one thread to a reply in another thread.
Given the new architecture (and lack of forum structure) I think this will be helpful. I think what we may see (and are seeing) is that people are just going to post to the most active thread (the one that shows up on the dashboard because it has the newest activity) rather than necessarily the most relevant thread (which they may not even realize exists because it isn't currently showing on the dashboard, or in recent browse view). With the ability to permalink, it would be easy to redirect people. It also saves people from having to retype their post once they find the correct thread.
For example, the Yehoodi Fail thread became a support catchall, partly because the nature of the initial post, but also because it was the easiest thread in Support to find (the bug thread had long fallen off the dashboard and recent browsing tab). If we had permalink, then I could have posted a permalink to my bug report in that thread (the Yehoodi Fail thread) in the bug thread and wouldn't need to retype the whole bug.
Flickr has a permalink feature (clicking on "permalink" below someone's post, generates the exact url for that reply, which you can then copy and paste into any other reply), which is super nifty.

Because (as I edited while you were posting) this is a feature request thread, and html is a feature I like to use (as opposed to bbcode buttons). See the rest of my edit for further clarification.

Quote Is there something that having HTML instead of BBCode allows that I don't know of (outside of image specifics)?
Nope. I'm just used to html, as most of the other boards that I post on allow it. It's more second nature for me to type the html code, than to remember to click a button for bbcode.
Again, just a feature request; not a demand, a bug or even a FAIL.
(And actually, posting photos from flickr that comply with flickr's link back requirement can't be done with the img bbcode from Yehoodi - you have to tweak it yourself, or like I did, install a bbcode GM script on flickr. The html was simple because flickr supplied. So that's one area where html was superior)
Not sure what you don't get - it's a features request thread, and I'm requesting features. I didn't realize this was limited to only features that you deem worthy?
You know, you could always just put me on ignore, and then you won't have to be so pained to read my feature requests.
You know, you're totally right. I missed the spirit of this thread.
I want Yehoodi to offer a $1,000,000 bonus to all users that registered before the year 2000, a koala bear to spell check all posts, and some sort of rainbow-farting unicorn color scheme option.

A link to the "first unread post" within a thread. That was a very useful feature on 2.0 and I greatly miss it on 3.0.

yes. Click on the users name, then click on the little circle with a slash through it.
Currently only applies to their comments, not their posts or events.

You mean, like this?

Last 30 days does not function like this for me. Should I put the issue in the Bugs thread.
I miss being able to search by both username and keyword at the same time.
Sometimes I'll remember something someone said, and having both criteria narrows down my search a great deal.
Another solution would be to have multiple sort options on the search results. Date ascending/descending, username, etc.
Also, please let me have a √ in my sig.
Yes.
Still, it would be nice to have an automated way to do this (as opposed to copying the url for the last reply and then changing the reply #).
That's it. I just cut & paste from the address bar and change the number accordingly.
Edited while you were replying...
Allow basic html code (bold, ital, links, img, etc.)
You mean like this?
The only thing I miss is not being able to change my image size.
No, those are the bbcode buttons you used. I'd like to be able to use html. I asked for html, because I meant html.
This is a feature request thread. I'm requesting features. I'm not under the illusion that all or even any of them will be implemented.
Why?
(I just noticed that Yehoodi automatically resizes too-big images. I think I like that.)
Because (as I edited while you were posting) this is a feature request thread, and html is a feature I like to use (as opposed to bbcode buttons). See the rest of my edit for further clarification.
I guess I don't understand the fundamental difference between typing brackets and typing braces around a B?

So really, it's just one more ultimately negligible thing you could find to bitch about. Got it.
You realize nitpicking BS like this causes your valid complaints to lose their impact, right?
Besides, 2.0 allowed html.
I only want it for comments, not signatures...

yeah what she said. When I hit recently viewed only a few threads come up instead of all the threads that are active.
In response to that, I thought we'd nailed that in a code revision a few days ago, but it looks like it needs more work.

Can we get ALT tags for the various BBcode buttons? They'd be easier to use if I could hover over them for a description.

BBCode is no longer supported. Use Markdown instead:
