Yehoodi Radio Celebrates a Decade of Modern Swinging Music

Tune into Yehoodi Radio every Thursday in January for a salute to the modern swinging bands who have supported the Lindy Hop scene over the past decade. These bands deserve major thanks for their hard work and dedication. Without them we would not get to experience the wonderful feeling and energy of dancing to live music. There is something magical about us as dancers interacting with the musicians. Yes we can still love Basie, Ellington and Hamp, but let's also appreciate and savor our contemporaries who are playing their hearts out for us. Kudos to all the musicians out there...this show is for you!

I've been listening to the show today and am consequently dancing at my desk. Thanks, Jesse!

This is FANTASTIC!!!!

Recognized the wind section of the Blue Saracens without looking - and found that there's some of their stuff out there I don't have a copy of yet. Have to fix that.

And one of my favorite cuts to use for lindy DJ from the late great Blues Swingers just came up -- and one of my favorites from the new Hounds album! Hard to keep my feet still. Can't wait to see what's next.

DAMN! This puts me in a good mood!

But I'll have to put it away for a while soon ... I have a set to plan and need to check out the word on Nikki Yanofsky's new album and where I have to go to get my copy.

Good times.

Thanks, Jesse ... big time.

Addendum (edit added a few hours after originally posting the comments above):

Heard the Blues Swingers version of "Switchin' in the Kitchen" in the mix. One of my favorites, but not the one I use most often in my DJ mixes any more.

I much prefer Asleep at the Wheel's version - originally recorded in 1985 so it's outside the past decade theme. But if anyone is interested:
