We'd love to get your direct feedback on the DJs and overall experience you've had a Frim Fram! Please take this survey and let us know your favorite (and not-so-favorite) DJs from the past six months, and any other local DJs you'd love to hear at Fram but haven't.
We've also got a few questions that will help us shape how we get the word out about Fram.
I'll be bringing printed versions of this survey to Fram as well. All submissions will remain confidential so please be as honest as possible.

I really love this survey, however when rating all the DJ's in the past 6 months, it's really hard to remember everyone. Most of my scores were loved, liked, and hated. While it's honest to my recollections, those recollections are fuzzy. For some DJ's who have played a few times, I simply don't remember what I thought of their spinning, and it's not that I didn't find them memorable. Perhaps a weekly, or monthly, survey for DJ ranking would be more useful. Then you get a more real time perspective. And I'd be better at remembering what I did and did not like.
Also, the DJ list shows a few out of towners like Alan and Greg, so what do you mean by "local?" Why can't we request DJ's from Boston, CT, Philly, and DC as well?

Thanks for the feedback. I know the survey isn't perfect, but I had some limitations to work around. I am hoping that some good data will come out of this first go-round regardless. I'm starting to see some trends already, which is a great sign.

My take - chances are that if you don't remember their spinning you'd probably rate them "OK." Which is not as helpful as the extremes - I'm more interested in which DJs made a strong impression, either way.
It's not required to fill out every line, so if you don't remember a DJ it's totally OK to leave that line blank.
And if you hear a DJ again that you didn't rate because you missed that Fram or just plain didn't remember their last set, by all means feel free to PM me here or even drop me a note at Fram and I'll take it into account.

The list shows out-of-towners because opinions on folks like Greg or Alan still help me gauge the general perceptions, since I know what Greg and Alan played when they were here, and can use that info when I'm booking in the future.
There's nothing stopping requests for more non-local DJs, but since we've got no travel budget for DJs, I can't fly people in. So while I'd agree with anyone that writes that it would great to have Manu DJing every week, it's not going to help me week-in and week-out when I'm making the schedule. I can, however, easily book folks that live in the tri-state area if there's someone in demand that hasn't been booked yet (or recently).

There is something I find curious about this survey. I think giving out information about what you play could be used by others in their playlists. When you start out, you find out a small events what works and what doesn't.
I think by listing what you play, the DJs who have been around can pick up on it without telling where they got that information.
I really don't think that those who may not be known should give out info only for the elite to keep their status.

By the way, I plan on printing out some hard copies of the survey and having them available at Frim Fram next time I'm there. If not next week, the following week.

I like how strictly westie does it. They have a "feedback" page on their website that asks every week about the place, the service, the music, and the dj for a particular event. It's so much easier to respond to something when you just heard it and was there a few days before.
If the survey we put up isn't sufficient to get your thoughts to us, feel free to post your comments on a particular night on the event thread right here on Yehoodi. We've currently got an event thread for every week that should work.
Or, better yet, come talk to me at Fram any night I'm there about the DJs as they're spinning or from recent weeks. I won't be there next Thursday but generally I'm there most weeks.
I'm doing what I can to get meaningful feedback but I don't have the bandwidth to create or manage a survey every week.

understood. But of course the fram web posted survey is supposed to be anonymous, no? I think most folks are not gonna walk up to you and tell you to your face that they don't like the dj's music or would they post it on the weekly fram thread.
You probably do this already, but I'd recommend any out of town dj passing through NYC be considered as a guest dj. This probably has more to do with just hearing something 'new' and different.
p.s. I do think it's great that at least you do have a 6 mos. survey out there.

But that's only my opinion.
Please try taking another look at the survey.
For anyone else that misunderstands - we're not polling DJs, we're polling Frim Fram attendees about the DJs and their experience at Fram.
If you still happen to be curious about DJs sharing information about what they play, please do check out the Fram Set List thread.
I done did it!
thanks! We appreciate everyone's feedback. We obviously want to make sure that Fram continues to keep our community happy and dancing.

Thanks to everyone that's already taken it for the great feedback!
I took the survey :)
Survey closes tomorrow! Last chance to share your opinions on Fram and its DJs!
All done, thanks everyone for your input!
It would be cool to see the results, well, not the DJ favorability ratings, that would just make trouble but the results of the other questions.
