Anyone have tips to help me find events in a particular region, similar to the old forum layout? Is my best bet picking a city somewhat in the center of that region for my location, then filtering all events within six hours or so?
Kind of depressing looking for events 2-3 hours from Dallas and nothing's posted, by the way. :P

Right now there are two good ways to search for Dallas events:
Go to the Dash calendar. Click "Other" and enter "Dallas, TX" then click "Show" to see all events (within a 200 mile radius) in Dallas.
Type "Dallas, TX" in the search box at the top and then choose the "Upcoming Events" tab. I get 3 events when I try this, but I don't think any are in Dallas (only Texas).
We will be working on fine tuning the general site search to make the results more accurate. But for now, I don't think anyone has entered lindy events for the Dallas area.

The first suggestion works great but it'd be nice to have an option on that thing to filter out the weekly dances. I think there should be an easier way to discern the annual events from those weekly ones. Maybe a color coding system or filter.

Good suggestion on filtering out the various kind of events. Right now we don't have such a huge volume of events that it's a major issue. But we have high hopes!

Try looking for events in NYC on that thing! For the next month or so there is at least one event per night.
Oddly enough, I was searching for BABBLE on the calendar but it's not there, though there is a thread for it. There's also a thing about BarSWINGona registration, which I guess is taking place in NYC for some reason, listed for four days.
As an aside, can you recommend that or other events in NYC? Been wanting to visit for a while now but unluckily couldn't make it to Frankie's 95.
