If they extended unemployment to the end of 2010 we'd probably see less ambulances running to save victims of heart-attacks. 30 Day More Unemployment Extension

Be the best.

I know that there is not much point in asking anything reasonable to a troll, but what on earth does paying people unemployment have to do with ambulances? Absolutely nothing.

Believe it or not, most people on unemployment actually are trying to find work, but it just isn't out there, due to how badly the last administration screwed up the economy. However, the once sector that continues to grow is that of health care. Which includes ambulances. Which means, if anything, there will be the same number or MORE ambulances out there, and hospitals (which are private, anyways) will still be there, regardless of the status of unemployment. What paying people unemployment does is make it so that they aren't homeless and starving while they try to find a job. I think that is a fabulous thing.

Besides you might mean "fewer" ambulances.

Response to McQ in post #3 Show

No, I'm pretty sure he means less. Little "pygmy" ambulances we'll call them, made from Smart Cars instead of gas guzzling vans. ;-)

Unless he was using an incomplete formula. For example:

"Longer Unemployment Extension, Less Ambulances, means more time to walk to the hospital."

No, I can't make any sense out of that. You can't subtract ambulances from an unemployment extension (unless ambulances were, somehow, part of the unemployment extension before???) And ambulances are still discreet items. So either it's meaningless, "unemployment extension" doesn't mean what I think it means, or it should still be "fewer".

I love, love, love that people are correcting a troll's grammar. And being validated.

No I think he means "minus" or sans the ambulences completely vs a smaller quantity, ie "...less the ambulence." It's more a saying using "less" incorrectly mostly on purpose. Such as "more substance, less the hubris," or "More kissie poo, less touch the peepee."

The OP itself makes it clear what he meant:

If they extended unemployment to the end of 2010 we'd probably see less ambulances running to save victims of heart-attacks.

Although I prefer Zenin's interpretation :)

If people cut back on their fatty foods, we'd probably see fewer ambulances running to save the victims of heart-attacks. The ones needed could be a little less ambulance thanks to the lesser weight of the victim.
