Thanks guys! This will be a repeat event, I'll announce the next date as soon as it's confirmed. The floor is concrete and the room is 150 capacity.

I also have a Harlem Renaissance Retrospective event "Mood Indigo" next Saturday in Brooklyn, I'll post about that later. But if you drop Voon or Heidi or Joe's name at the door you can get in for $12 instead of $20. There will be live music from 10pm-2am from 2 great bands and tap performances.

I wish I lived closer to NYC!

I'm very interested in Shanghai swing music from this period for a variety of reasons. Will you be making a CD anytime soon (or selling mp3's online)? If not, do you have a list of resources (song titles, existing recordings of them, etc.) that I could use to build a collection of the kinds of things you play? (I hope you will be making recordings of your own soon - that's what I really want. :) ).

Response to Racetrack in post #4 Show

Thank you! I'm delighted to hear you're interested in this style of music! We're working on a CD but in the meantime I would recommend going to music stores in Chinatown and asking for old Shanghai jazz. Some key singers from the era include Zhou Xuan, Tao Li, Chang Loo and Bai Kwong, and iTunes or Youtube searches for these names should yield promising results :)
