Already have a fan page? Let's talk

I'm currently developing a suite of Facebook apps that I'm hoping will be of interest to organizers looking to leverage Facebook to promote their swing events in a non-annoying way. Unlike most apps on FB, these apps reside completely within a tab on a fan page or user's profile. (Yet another reason fan pages are better, by the way. This isn't possible with groups.)

I'm looking to connect with a few organizers who already use fan pages and would like to work together on adding some functionality to their fan page in exchange for giving me feedback. I want to learn what features you want, what works well, what doesn't, etc... so that I can hopefully eventually package a pretty standard set of turn-key apps/tabs that organizers can add to their pages.

To show a simple example of what I mean, I've created a sample fan page with a custom Registration tab. It's just for demo purposes and doesn't save any data, post to anyone's wall, send any messages, etc... (But it could do all of that and more, pretty easily! The options really are nearly limitless.) so please feel free to check it out, play with it, and think if it's something you might want to try on your wall for an upcoming event. http://www.facebook.com/pages/FubarEX-Example-Lindy-Exchange/352757561919

Message me on here or email me at: john@danceweekend.com if you're interested. Thanks! I've also written another blog post about this but it's basically the same thing I've said here: http://bit.ly/99WAMy

Fan pages and groups each have their advantages. The messages that a group sends out are much more visible to their recipients.

I really like the idea of a Facebook application for Lindy Exchange registration. That is great! It just needs to also offer a sign-up option for non-facebook-users, too!

Check out our swing dancing calendar facebook app: http://apps.facebook.com/swing-in-muenchen/

It doesn't require "installation" to see the calendar; only when you want to add it to your own profile. It doesn't post anything anywhere.

You should be able to see it as small box in this public profile (= fan page): http://www.facebook.com/swingandthecity (for http://www.swingandthecity.com/ )

While I'm already importing calendars from all over the world (I can use any Google calendar that has full address information in it), I didn't get around to make the Facebook app configurable, so I can't yet offer you to use it for your city.
