Ok kids, time to get serious and explain why your lindy scene is the best on earth. Some criteria to consider: number of dancers, number of nights of dancing, number of live music venues / bands, "quality" of dancers, friendliness to newbies, and I'm sure lots of other subjective qualities.
Keep it above the belt, no trashing of other people's scenes. Just what makes your scene awesome.
* The birthplace of lindy hop - plenty of old timers who still go out dancing.
* Live music: lots of great bands and venues from Harlem to Times Square to Brooklyn, i.e. George Gee, Cangelosi Cards, Vince Giordano, HRO, Blue Vipers, Baby Soda and many more. Plus hundreds of other swing jazz, dixieland, soul, and blues music gigs going on all week.
* Frim Fram: killer social dancing every Thursday, lots of newbies and experienced dancers of all ages mixing it up
* Killer venues: Midsummer Nights Swing at Lincoln Center, the swanky Club Cache in Times Square, the Alhambra Ballroom in Harlem, Central Park bandshell in the summer
* Lots of swing institutions: Jazz at Lincoln Center, NYSDS, Jelly Roll, Jazz Museum of Harlem, Louis Armstrong House, etc.
I don't see how anybody could argue against NYC being the best. I'm not from there, but I've been there a couple of times and I would vote it the best.
But I can see people thinking their city is the most awesome for lindy hop. Sure, NYC is great for dancing (not debating that) but I can certainly see people saying that they prefer their scene for various reasons. There are a lot of great scenes out there (Seattle, San Fran, Austin, N.O., Toulouse, London, Barcelona, etc), and they all are unique.
Best Lindy Scene in the world: bring it!
