We have a very special night planned for you! We have the Brooklyn Bombshell Revue ready to knock your socks off with our (in our minds) award-winning routine that killed in Coney! Also, we bid a very fond (and sad!) farewell to Miss Lisa Casper, off to find her fortune in New Orleans. She and her Syncopated Sweethearts will do a performance at 10 pm.

In celebration of all things Mermaid, we are making a one-time offer of $5 admission to anyone who dresses up as for the Mermaid Parade (it must be a costume, not just a sailor hat, or a Coney Island t-shirt) to be determined by our own Miss Christina at the door. If you do not have a costume, but want to try to bribe your way in for $5 anyway, feel free to try and bribe her with booze, baked goods, comic books, glitter etc... Keep in mind our star trek mermaid is allergic to gluten, so bagels and beer will not sway her!

To the students who get in for $5 anyway: it's the same incredible bargain for you, but we'd love it if you dressed up in solidarity. :-)

From the ConeyIslandUSA site at 7 p.m. today:

    Chief Justice Mark here....

Sorry for delay. The list is in hand and will be shared very soon.

And I want to apologize in advance for the many mistakes/oversights that will certainly be evident when the list is posted (hopefully tomorrow here and on facebook). All the good stuff you can attribute to my faithful Judges, all the bad stuff you can attribute to me (and maybe a few of the "stronger" bribes).

This year we were "rushed" during our deliberations, plus my trusty Bailiff Jason was under the weather (but still showed up bless his heart - albeit a bit late). This all combined to result in some non-delayed, but potentially flawed justice. Having said that, I can guarantee you that everyone who gets an award deserved one. But there may be cases of people who deserve the award even more having been forgotten. FORGIVE ME!!!

I hereby officially promise to do a better job next year. And I have some concrete ideas that we hope to implement by then...so have faith!

Thanks to everyone for an amazing beginning of the summer.

--- and who among the mermaids could possibly have stronger bribes than The Brooklyn Bombshell Revue, with our custom designed illustration, comics, sculptural cupcakes, and toys aplenty?!? I ask you, WHO?

Just to clarify this last bit:

    Quote

...was from Atalanta, not the Chief Judge.

Phsaw, you know he thought it even if he didn't write it. Stina's cupcakes and Michael's drawing were badass.

You now have 29 hours to perfect your mermaid attire and/or your bribe(s)

    Get on it!

(I will be dressed up at the door, I had better see some other Mermaids tomorrow night!)

The Chief Justice and Mrs Chief Justice came to our dance? I kind of can't believe it. Seriously, I don't care if we 'win' this year, we WON. :-)
