We're just a couple of swing dancers from California who had a hard time finding swing articles and blogs online. So we thought it would be a good idea to create a website that was dedicated to sharing these great articles, in an easy to find, updated fashion.
We have had a great response so far, and are continually looking for more blogs to add to the list. Our goal is to increase the readership of these blogs within the swing community. So far, so good. :D

Am I the only one that finds it a little weird that the site makes it look like it's actually got 28 authors instead of really just being an RSS grab-and-post from folks original blogs?

We are not trying to indicate that the content on the site is our original content, nor do we have staff writers. All the articles have links out to the original website.

p>The idea of the site is to put all these great swing blogs in one place for easy access.

I don't know what it means but it is an ingenious choice! Think about it. In a few months when this link evaporates into the Yehoodi ether, how will anyone ever find it? Well people might remember "rabbits" and "toasters" so the search might actually work in locating it with either of those words.
A year or so ago JS Almonte on his excellent blog presented a list of other blogs. I remember thinking at the time that there's a lot of stuff out there I don't know about it. I resolved to look at some of these other sites but events interceded and I never got around to it. This terrific new interface by Rabbits and Toasters went straight to my Lindy Hop favorites tab and solved that problem. Also it was their work that inspired me to expand and make available my 250 song playlist on blip.fm. I believe their work might inspire others to create and make available stuff to the Lindy community, especially blogs. People I presume use blogs instead of Facebook because they seek a wider interest-specific audience. Having this interface enhances the chance someone's blog might be read.
One final note: Rabbits and Toasters helps people find blogs/articles, but what will help people find the Rabbits and Toasters interface? I know Yehoodi is planning a new version of its software. Perhaps it would consider adding a "Resources" tab across the top with useful links which have national or international appeal. It seems to me the closest thing we have to a national site is an appropriate place to house links with national interest. For example, sites like swingdjs.com could be listed under Music. This also would be helpful to newcomers in integrating them into our world.
Is that all there is, is that all there is?

Rik,
I believe those threads are lost after 90 days? I'm thinking of newcomers who start accessing Yehoodi after 90 days or people who return to Yehoodi after a hiatus of more than 90 days. Also, and this comment is not limited to blogs, but a thread like Rabbits and Toasters might get lost in a sea of other threads. This would not happen if resources were separated out in a separate tab and placed there only by the Yehoodistrators. Most other websites have an external links section. With respect to Yehoodi, I have proposed a section with only links to sites of national or international interest to avoid clutter.
I recognize that Yehoodistrators would have to select those sites which might create a bit of a problem. But I believe it can be done and would raise Yehoodi's profile with newcomers to our dance, something which I believe you personally have mentioned is a goal in the future. The calendar function after all is really just a resource. Any links you decide to list of course would have to be sites that are not competitive with Yehoodi; so I would not list some links which recently have appeared in Yehoodi threads. Those would continue to show up in transient threads.
Is that all there is, is that all there is?

I agree with NoNameJiver. A tab with online online resources (not discussion) would be awesome.

thanks for the suggestion. Could you please resubmit this to us in the Support forum?
We're working on a fairly major site redesign, so stuff like this is super helpful!
