Is anyone going to the following event? I have never been to one before, is there space to dance? The Hot Sardines are playing, which is a great band for dancing!!
on july 24th . . . enter a world of foot-stomping jazz and gut-bucket blues. listen to the sounds of old new orleans, early new york, chicago, and rural america - to the
music that transported people of every class during the depression years. step into a
time when juke joints and speakeasies were the only places to drink bootleg, hear
great jazz, and dance the night away . . .
come join me for a rollicking evening of summertime scandal in your 1930's juke joint garb. doors will open at 10pm as the first band begins, and performances will continue throughout the evening until 3:30am or later.
there will be southern food, iced tea, ice cold beer and prohibition era cocktails.
we'll have an upstairs (air conditioned) lounge and rooftop hideout.
in remembrance of the great depression (and the current one as well), tickets are
only $17 in advance, and $20 at the door. the party is 21+ only.
we will be selling tables if you want to make sure you get a seat for the show, though additional seating will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.
for tables and advance tickets, go to shanghaimermaid.com
more details, performers and location to be revealed soon . . .

I thought folks weren't supposed to be posting publicly about Shanghai Mermaid events, since its underground?
That said, I've been before and there has been space to dance.
