We perform Wednesday evening, July 28 at 7:00pm at the lovely Carl Schurz Park on the far East side of Manhattan, where we will make our debut on their Summer Sounds concert series. The main entrance to the park is at 86th Street at East End Avenue (one block east of York Avenue), and we will perform at the top of the Park’s grand stairway, facing the East River Promenade. There are some chairs there, but you can also bring your own (and I’ve been told that there is room on the Promenade for dancing!).
Click here for more details (http://www.carlschurzparknyc.org/events.html), and please note that in the event of an ominous weather forecast that evening, an early call will be made Wednesday and announced on that website, which means we will perform on the rain date of Thursday, July 29 (same time and location).
We play one set from 7:00--8:30pm, so please join us for our popular summer program Themes Like Old Times, featuring classic theme songs from the greatest Swing Era bands (including Goodman, Basie, Dorsey and Ellington, among others), plus a special 100th Birthday tribute to the legendary Artie Shaw. In addition, our two wonderful vocalists sing the Great American Songbook in homage to some of America’s finest singers, including Peggy Lee, Lena Horne, Liza Minnelli, Matt Munro, Nat “King” Cole, Bobby Darin and the immortal Frank Sinatra!
