I'm fairly new to Lindy. I'm taking a Lindy 1 class again. I would love to take day classes, if possible, but haven't found any. Night time classes are not the best for me, since I am already tired by the time the classes start. I can tell that it's affecting my learning. I don't mind practicing at night, but this presents another problem-- I need to find places that also have learners, too. The last time that I went to dance at a nightclub, EVERYONE was experienced. I was just out of the loop. At this point, my boyfriend is in Lindy 2, which I'll probably take this next time around (if I pass the assessment tonight!) Extra note: My boyfriend is intimidated by the expertise of the other dancers at the club and says that we need to learn more steps. Since then, we have not been back there.

Hi seashake! Everyone is a beginning at some point, so try to get over your intimidation and focus on what you do know.

Having a boyfriend you can dance with is super helpful, since you can dance with each other and not feel intimidated. But leading and following others who are more experienced than you is an invaluable part of the learning experience.

Don't know what to tell you about day classes. Most dance schools are oriented toward working folks, so don't typically have day classes. But they might have weekend classes. Or you could do private lessons, which are more expensive, but flexible in schedule.

Good luck and keep dancing!
