PAULA ABDUL DANCE SHOW
Gregg Smith, Casting Director for Michael Jackson’s “This is It”, has just joined Paula Abdul as a Consultant on her new CBS Dance Show. We are seeking dancers from the ages of 6-106 (But not a day older!) for Paula’s show. This show is a labor of love and meant to be a celebration of the passion that dancers possess. If you’re good, we want to see you! All styles encouraged: Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Contemporary, Hip-Hop, B-Boys / B-Girls, Jukin, Pop & Lock, Salsa, Tango, Flamenco, Capoeira, Cuban Salsa, Irish, Native American, Scottish, Swing, Lindy Hop, Hand to Hand, Georgian Ballet, Russian Folk, Unique Ballroom and African Folk Styles….. In fact, everything that you present is open to your own unique interpretation. For instance… Fuse together more than one style that you excel in! This way you can show us dances that we never dreamed existed!!! (Can you tell that we are passionate about this project?) You can enter as solos, duos and troupes of any size! ALL STYLES ENCOURAGED! We are looking for excellence in your own unique abilities. So bring it on!!!
**Seeking GEORGIAN DANCERS ** If you are an athletic Georgian Dancer and have been trained in Georgian Ballet, then we really want you to submit.
Unfortunately, anyone who has participated as a contestant on a reality dance show in the past will not be eligible. If you have already submitted to McNulty / Spillman Casting / CBS, please do not resubmit. You are already in the files for the show and are being considered.
Please get your submissions to us A.S.A.P. but no later than August 27th. A series of auditions will be held, culminating in final auditions in Los Angeles and New York. Those selected to appear on the program will be given transportation to Los Angeles and stipend commensurate with other shows of this genre, Hotel and Per Diem. Of course for the dancers who move on each week, there is a pot of gold at the end of the Rainbow of approximately $250,000. The participants will be treated as consummate professionals in the way that each act will be presented on stage, for camera, and mentored in their own style and allowed to grow in front of the American public.
If you are currently making a living as a professional dancer, we are afraid it will make you ineligible for the show! But we are happy for you that you have work!
