THE NAOMI JOHNSON SWING DANCE"
This Sunday Dec. 4th, from 7pm to 10pm at Club 412 in Manhattan, 412 8th Ave, NYC, NY 10001, between: w31St and w32 Street.
Come and dance the night away with the George G Orchestra and special guest Nick Palumbo - two of her equal all time favorites. (she had other favorites too in high regard). Celebrate Naomi Johnson's love of swing dance. She has said in the past that this is the way she wants to go out: with the joy, love, and happiness of swing dance and all swingers dancing.
There will be a band, a DJ, dancing, a jam, a brief prayer, a brief talk about her life, a Naomi Johnson mystery bag raffle, short auction including a 250 photo cd professionally made, and more. There will be some lite snacks, but you may bring your own food/drink, especially drink because the bar will be closed according to Charlie/Tammy owners. The wonderful DJ Tomo between sets. $15 suggested at the door - more if you want to. All proceeds will go towards her funeral expense and is greatly appreciated.
This question will be answered: Whom did Naomi ask to dance for her before she passed on?
and
OPINION NEEDED:
Naomi once said that whomever wears her shoes will have her fiery dance spirit dancing with them. She has a beautiful pair of black and white specialized swing dance shoes, fits about 8 1/2 to 9 1/2 - low mileage. I believe she would want someone to have them in swing and put them to good use. And also a few black white swing dresses.
QUESTION: Is it a good idea to auction them off to the highest bidder?
yes / no? why?
For those who would like to help with her rather large funeral expenses, and/or cannot actually make the dance, you can do it either one of three ways:
