Hello Yehoodites. Spuds, Rik and Letta talk about the Lonestar Championships in Austin, Texas. Also, check out the interview with Peter Loggins (swing dance historian/teacher) who talks about Hal Takier. Hal was an avid Jitterbugger and Balboa dancer from Los Angeles, California and danced for over 75 years. He recently passed away at the age of 94 and will be deeply missed.

Great show!
I really enjoyed the interview, and I would be also interested if the full length was posted.
Also, since you guys mentioned it...
Smackdown is a competition weekend, in the sense that there are competitions (there are also two lesson tracks and several social dances). The most popular competition is the Battle of the Swing Cities, which now is just a fancy name for Team Choreography. Usually a team will be submitted from each of the regional cities and colleges. There is a sub-competition, the "Collegiate Cup", which only college teams compete for, so they're not overshadowed by the more experienced dancers, such as the reigning champions Swing Columbus.

The physics is theoretical, but the fun is real!
