If you've never been to the Dance Flurry, you might consider checking it out. It's a driveable distance from NYC, not expensive, and a unique experience. If you've always wanted to learn Chinese Ribbon and Fan Dancing or Greek Island Dancing, this is the place to be! The biggest dance there is Contra dancing, featuring hairy-legged men in tie-dyed skirts; other major dances featured are Cajun, Zydeco, and various types of swing dancing.
You'll also find random music making in the hallways, hand-knitted items for sale, "crunchy" and not so crunchy food available. It's an insane experience and worth at least one visit.
The deadline for advance discount tickets is January 30 at $80 for the whole festival. A bargain. Thereafter it's $95.
