Annoying Early Mermaid Parade Thread

I know, I know....

And I don't care.

I like to have my mermaid parade costume finished at least a week before the parade so I don't feel rushed and freak out.

But I need some help this year....

1) Anyone want to go fabric shopping in the next week or two? I'm gonna need another eye for color combos.

2) THE IMPORTANT ONE!! Anyone know how to make a little lightweight LED light that runs on a very very small battery pack?

3) Seamstresses? Anyone want to sew for me? I have a design drawn up already and it's actually really simple (and AWESOME!) this year.

4) Crafting party anyone?

I shall end with this: OMG MERMAID IS IN FOUR MONTHS!!

I do not have a problem. And I will not spam the boards (much) this year (maybe).

I'm so glad someone else is already Mer-planning.

I don't know how complex of a thing you're looking for, but they sell flashlights with LED's in them. Could you either use one of them, or disassemble one to fit your needs?

The routine song is almost locked in, rehearsal schedule being planned, bathing suits being shopped for. About right for (almost) March 1st.

I don't know how many of you saw the Glee episode recently that featured this bathing suit. Ignore the annoying WineMommies website (LOL) but wouldn't this look be perfect for the Mermaid Parade? I loved the look but would want it with the longer skirt shown in the episode.

I'm friendly with Melissa Marion of Housewives on Fire clothing, and she offered to make any of us who were interested a longer circle skirt. She also suggested that instead of buying the expensive suit from Pinup Girl clothing to get a cheap striped nautical top at a place like Forever 21 or H&M, etc. to pair with the skirt.

I realize that most of you enjoy making your own outfits, but if any of you are sewing-challenged or don't have a machine or the time (like myself), I know that Melissa is very reasonably priced and totally gets the aesthetic of Mermaid! Just thought I would put that out there for any of you who are interested.
