Now, you can drive past them in your new car! On the way to the Hummer dealer to get something that will balance out the smart.

Funny. I seem to remember you saying how you were over the SmartCar, how it was just a passing interest.

Can I drive it?

Lindy hopper Jim from Vancouver bought one of these in 2006, diesel. He loved it, but was really disappointed with Mercedes-Benz service and costs.

I remember him saying that the car is so compact that he needed to take apart body panels and many other parts to exchange a simple headlight.

He ended up selling it last year and bought a Honda Fit.

I guess if it's going to be your 2nd (or 5th!) car it should be a great addition to the fleet. I'd love to have one to zip around town.

In all honestly, I said that since I knew I would be doing it and wanted to give the 20 question game a chance. I'll keep quiet on the next car though.

Regarding a loan...what's mine is yours. Vehicle-wise, mind you!

This was like two or three months ago, at least, that you said so.

Agreed.

Filled up today. 350 miles on a G_d damn tank. I had no idea. Same size tank as my GS Adv, interestingly enough.

41 MPG so far. Not complaining.

Installed a three way splitter for cigarette lighter (for GPS, radar, and phone charger). Tomorrow EZ-Pass gets mounted. And spare removed (off to the apartment instead). Oh, I Have a Parrot installed. It's fantastic.

Parked directly outside my building tonight, at Midnight, in a 10 ft spot. Me likey.

......ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh ! OK.... I'm pissed. Have you Car Talk thread posters heard about this: (New York-WABC, September 30, 2002) Drivers will have to think twice before parking illegally in New York City anymore. Starting Tuesday, October 1st, fines for some city parking tickets will double. Anybody who has every driven in the city knows how difficult it can be to find parking. City officials are hoping they can help cut down on the car traffic by increasing the cost of certain parking violations. Officials say the changes will hopefully convince many to leave their cars and trucks at home. Many drivers we spoke with said the occasional parking ticket is a hassle, but it is simply the price of doing business in the city. But that price is about to increase. Sam Miller, Assistant Commissioner of Finance: "There are about 35 fines... violations for which fines will increase from 55 to 105." City finance officials say the parking fine hike is aimed at making streets safer and more accessible. Still, they don't deny that the estimated 62 million expected to be generated annually by the increase won't be welcome in our cash-strapped economy. Among the violations that will see the fines hiked from 55 to 105: Double Parking Parking At A Hydrant Parking In A Crosswalk Parking In A No Standing Zone Some motorists we spoke with called the increase exorbitant and unfair. David Miller, Driver: "There's no place to park, the meters are up, if you park in a parking lot, it's going to cost you 30 for a half and hour. What do they expect people to do? How the hell am I supposed to pay off my bar tab when these guys keep raising the cost of traveling to NYC !!?? :p I'll post the exact fines later. In the meantime, tell me what you think.

Agressive wealth in action.

Be the best.

Ordered my Stebel Compact. Appears it's plug and play with Smarts.

And picked up a jumbo umbrella, that is the exact same color as car, at Duane Reade.

So far every time I have gone out to the car, people stop and asked me questions. The question currently in the lead is: "Can it go on the highway?"

Is your answer: "Yes, but I wouldn't recommend it."

:D

Ordering HIDs and did the free seat lean mod (push on seats hard to bend the small metal tab enough to allow a full recline). Good for napping and hauling cargo.

You did really well! It's a baby mileage and age wise.

What are you having done?

needed brakes and tires, plus the timing belt hadn't been done. so they knocked off a grand for that work plus the extra i got them to take off for being dicks and making the price so high :D

i can't wait to get it back - after 4 years of the neon, driving a 4 year old manual transmission is LOVELY.

That's not gonna compromise anything safety-wise, is it?

Ahhh...the dick removal fee

PS tirerack is your friend: www.tirerack.com

Use their site to find discounted local mounting too.

Also, if it's just pads on your car, that's simple and cheap to do.

Nope.

It's a very thin metal tab, added to US models. It's there cause in thr coupe version there's a support bar on US cars that the seats would bump up against if fullt reclined. I have the cabriolet model so it doesn't apply.

Yes, but you could get your Miata in there. Hell, I could get my 3.5RL in there.

Reminds me... I need to find the picture of my amazing parking job in San Francisco.
