Earlier this week, I left a 10 ft parking spot (between my motorcycle and another car) and headed off to a long day in my 8.5 ft Smart Car.
About 14 hours later, it's very late at night and I see 12 ft Mini backup down the street I am driving down to try and get into 10 ft spot. Good side of the street (avoids the early AM alternate side parking swap).
I am not concerned and patientily wait with my hazards on. Homegirl sizes up the spot for like 5 LONG minutes. Even getting out of her car and measuring with footsteps.
She finally gives up, shoots daggers at me, and drives away. I more or less pulled right in.
I get out all pumped and a double-parked up in a full-sized sedan yells at me "OH MAN! THAT WAS AWESOME! THAT COULD HAVE BEEN A COMMERCIAL! DID YOU SEE HOW PISSED SHE WAS!?!" We bonded and then he said "The funny thing is I'm the sucker waiting over 30 minutes for a spot to show up!".

I bore witness the Eff parking the Smart car this week and it was a thing of beauty. Not to mention the gawkers on the sidewalk. Have to say it is ridiculous the size spots t it fits into. I saw many in Berlin, but still rare in NYC where it seems like the perfect city car!

I was walking across 34th St, by the Empire State Building, when it hit me. The tag number, not the building.
Went to DMV online and sure enough it was available. Told China Girl, she laughed out loud and said "Do it!"
