Yes, I do my best WORK at nite, late at night, when all is stil except the depraved cries of two hot bodies......longing to attack each other.....deep w/affection and lust...tongues and legs entwined. Held together by a simple urge. The urge to merge. A simple and complex happening. Hot, wet and twisting limbs..clinging to each other. Can't get enough...hot, damp and writhing in exstacy. Oh and I like the emoticon too! 8)

Worse, Slayer.."Grappa after Dark" with this crowd of misfits!!! Yeah the imagination runs wild. You are safer with a good old American Boilermaker from McHale's on 46th and 8th Ave. Yow!

You all will of course forgive me if I forgo the grappa for a little bit of Geneivre (dutch gin... except in this case... it's Flemish)... I'm thinking of trying it out in a little drink I'm calling the Belgian Boilermaker... Belgian Boilermaker: 1 bottle Duvel (Dew-velle) beer 1 shot Geneivre Pour half bottle of beer into pear shaped beer goblet so that you have at least 1"1/2 of head. Gently drop shot of geneivre into the glass. Sip happily thinking of your rainy homeland...

Oh and Ben??? Didn't mention something to me about Belgian MARTINIES???? he he he.

So I am working in my martini lounge, and it is a dead night...not a soul all night long, when this guy walks in and orders a martini.

He pays with a 50. and I place his change on the bar. I turn away from him for only a minute, when I look back for him......he's GONE!!!

He did not even take one sip from his martini??? And all his money was still on the bar, so I assumed he went into the bathroom, but when after an hour, he failed to return??

So I cleared the bar and placed the money in my tip cup.....

Another hour goes by, and another guest comes in and says, "Hey!? Did you know that there is a man asleep on the floor here?"

The man was there the WHOLE TIME!!!! Out of my range of view!

Now I am faced with a moral dilema.....Of course I called the man a taxi. and stuffed his change in his pocket but kept a 10 for myself.

My collegees laugh at me and say I should have kept the whole thing because he should not have come into my bar that drunk in the first place.......What would YOU have done????

Just wondering???

Uuummmm... Martini's I love them!!!!!

... You must have been shocked to find the down there after all that time! Are you legally allowed to serve drunk people? (where i am from we are not legally allowed to serve them). We have to turff them out on their butt's!

I had a marmalade martini at a christmas breakfast last week... quite wicked at that time of the day! Actually, I love them any time of day :D Regardless of what your friends said about the money, how do you feel about keeping the 10?

No, serving obviously drunk people is not something I do!!!! But this guy did not appear to me to be drunk when he came in,,,As for the 10....Yes, I feel I deserved it!!!!

I am there to work! I made the martini, I called him a taxi, and I placed him in it!!! I earned that 10!

Just curious about the legalities... when you have to go above and beyond for customers you deserve the extra money.

I would like to sidle up to your bar and be poured a nice chocolate martini and we can shoot the breeze after you open the french doors that lead down to the beach. While you're doing that I will shove umpteen quarters in the juke and we can dance to a nice Sinatra tune.

When they make wine, the stuff that's left over they make brandy, the stuff that's left over from making brandy they make grappa with!

I would really like a nice manhaton made with bullet bourbon stroigh up. If not that Bombay saphire martini way dirty. I have to say that my 16 years of reastaurant experince makes me think that you did the dead right thing. Taking ten dollars for getting the guy a cab seem kinda of cheep almost. I mean making sure he got home all right takes way more work then severing him a martini. I am sure there are way more bartenders ou there that would have taken all of the money and just kick the guy out of the bar. Over all I would say you did the right thing.
