If you need explanations, this may not be for you. It takes a lot of time and commitment. It's been a few years since I've done this... but I'm signing up. PMs Fredo
uh... we do get to have some friendly wagering right?

Alas, time is something I don't have...but if this is the game where you pick teams (ie from Street & Smith), hold a draft, trade players and then play each other using a rules set of some sort (we did that in college long before the internet), then I HAVE played this, and I admit it's a hoot...

hmmm i've never done this before, but have always wanted to try. i generally stick with mlb.com's "beat the streak". How much time are we talking about?

Well the most time consuming event is the live draft which can take upto an hour depending on how many teams are participating.
Generally, you should check your team once a day to rotate players/pitchers. Trades, drops, etc also happen quite frequently so you have to stay on top of it. Belive me, it won't eating into anyone's social schedule/time. This is the second league I'm on.

I'm into Fantasy Baseball. Every season I believe that the Yankees and Mets will be in the World Series together and that the Mets will win it. And every season it turns out to be a fantasy. :(

Yeah NY Lily, that is a fantasy. I mean imagine the NY Yankees playing a Minor League team like the Mets...Why not play the Brooklyn Cyclones while we are at it. 8)

It's a comment like that, Fredo, that's got me close to signing up, just so I could BEAT YOUR ASS! lol.
I've never done fantasy baseball. Used to do football all the time pre-internet days. Tell me, does one need to see who's pitching every night and start those specific pitchers each night? How does that work? Basically, if I'm gonna be away from a computer for 3 days (ie: a swing weekend!), would that effect me in a big way? Is there link with the rules?
Hey, and speaking of baseball and betting, where's our friend Jimmy P&P? I haven't seen him in awhile!

Dave, the great thing is that you can set up your rotation for the entire week. I usually wait until I find out whose pitching and set up my pitchers 3 days in advance. Last year, I was away for Memorial Day weekend and didn't miss a beat, all my pitchers played and if a team had a day off, my bench players rotated into the line-up. Fanatics like myself will probably check everyday but it is not necessary.
Yeah bring it on Mr. Met, see if your managing style is better than Bobby V! LOL. :)

8 teams are signed up... I'll be reading over the specific league rules later today. Remember you manage fantasy games different from real ones. I guess I'll peruse some of the magazines at the bookstore as well.
Also, if people could use Yahoo! IM - that'd make a lot of stuff easier.

Ok we are up to nine teams now. I will accept new virtual GMs until Friday March 21st so we can have a coherent draft. 19 days until Baseball season!!!

Oh man I wish we got fantasy points for brawling, "Mad" Mike Piazza would be a must have player! I swear he was foaming at the mouth when he took a run at Moto.

Ha! Was that this preseason? :) Piazza's a moron...I like him and all, but he's another one of those fightin dudes. The thing w/ Clemens was fun for me.
Man, I need to get my shtuff together...draft is in a week and a half, right?
Swing Batter Swing! Fantasy Baseball anyone?
Anyone up to join a free fantasy baseball league on Yahoo?
PM me for the league password details. Only serious fantasy baseball players PM me. No wagering just bragging rights and enjoying baseball.
Salute.

I'm already on a league, but if you need more teams, I suppose I can try to manage two teams. Let me know.

All you need is the Sporting News. I used to read Baseball Weekly but that is no more.:(.
We have 8 teams so far and ideally would like 2-4 more.
