I don't know you in person, but you seem pretty cool, Toni. From where I sit in this little online community of ours, Chris was really lucky to have you in his life.
All my good wishes as you head into the future.

I know I haven't responded to everyone individually as much I would have liked, but I just want everyone to know that it means so much to have a community like this giving me support. I love all my local friends, but by and large they're also Chris's friends, so (understandably) they're trying to be as neutral as possible. It's nice to have such unequivocal support from you guys, really, and that also applies to everyone that has dropped me an e-mail or PM. Lynn sent me an especially touching e-mail that I really cherished.

... to Washington DC.
I'm just a bit too content and settled here in Jacksonville, and need to make a big change to move forward with my life. Due to a variety of factors, I have decided to relocate to the Washington DC area, and will be in town in time for DCLX. (Which makes the plane tickets I already bought for that event moot.)
Once I get settled, I hope to throw a party to catch up with old friends and more formally meet those that I've only met briefly at dances. Anyone in the greated NE region that might be willing to travel for the shindig is welcome to let me know, and I'll add you to the invite list. Of course, I hope to see lots of you at the exchange.
Here's to new adventures!

Best of luck with the move!
And regarding your already-purchased flight - despite the rules, you can sometimes call the airline, explain the outline of your situation, and they might let you (without a fee) transfer your flight to a credit for another flight ... it's worth a try! But try that sooner rather than later!
And you'll be a puddle hop away from NYC, so hopefully we will see you at more NYC events - like the Mermaid Parade??!!

When I was in DC for the summer I liked the Nationals for two reasons:
1)I just like baseball in general
2)I really like minor league games. And seeing the Nationals is like seeing a minor league game: Tickets are really cheap, they aren't very good, and there aren't very many people there, but once in a great while they win, and everyone gets really excited.
Also I liked the Congressional Baseball Game, held every year at the Nationals' stadium.

To add to this:
The Nationals ARE a minor-league team. It's just that MLB and the Lerner family made Washington, D.C. pony up more than half a billion dollars for a major-league ballpark. There have been developments around the neighborhood, but so many of them have been either abandoned or have zero tenants.
As for baseball, I prefer to see the Nationals' Class A team in Woodbridge, Va., about 10 miles south of the Beltway. You can go east to Bowie to see the Baysox, or northwest to see the Frederick Keys. If you've got a daytrip in you, there's the Delmarva Shorebirds, Aberdeen Ironbirds, the Wilmington Blue Rocks, and (drum roll, please) the Richmond Flying Squirrels -- a team which is in no way related to the Colorado Rockies ...
Another team to see: D.C. United. The place is loud, beer-filled, flags, horns, bagpipes, drums, and learning how to curse in Spanish.
But the team to watch this summer are the Washington Mystics. Suddenly, with the arrival of U.S. national team point guard Katie Smith, the team has a chance to win the WNBA championship. Seriously.
tonibduguid back to toniwbusch, and is moving...

You know, I think the year I turned 30 was the best year of my life so far. I wish you all the best with your new name and new decade :)

Toni, so sorry to hear the news, not easy to go through at all but know that you're awesome girl and wish you only the best.
Ditto on the turning 30. That was one of the happiest days of my life.
Also ditto on being sorry you're going through this. (And I promise, only partially because it didn't happen when I was single. ;) )

Hey girl! Hope you are well! I hope you can come back and visit again soon! It was so much fun hanging out.

Wishing you the best Toni, in this new chapter of your life.
Been there myself, and I can only wish you the best. You seem like a really fantastic individual and you have nothing but love from this community.

Bears. Beets. Battlestar Galactica.
Darn- Washington,D.C. gets the No. 1 draft pick again.
Healthcare is a Team sport.
Yes, they do!
(hopefully they won't use it next time on Kwame Brown ...)
Hopefully a deep threat WR for when Grossman starts.

I know not of which you speak. There is nothing of the sort.
Congrats. You will love it.
Toni will get to see some great, winning championship basketball ... like the Washington Wizards.
(HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA)
Better yet, Toni will get to see some great, championship-quality college football with Virginia Tech!
... you know, when Boise State plays them in September.
- James
I heard that The Nationals were the team to see.

They can probably give the Gators a run for their money.
Well, maybe.

Oh, there's also the Bobblehead Presidential Race every game. I'd go just for that. Maybe this year.
ooohh I love that part. Worth the $5 right there.
(Yup, just $5 day of game. That means, if you go for only innings 3-7, you're still only paying $1 per inning.)
