(Ooh la la, that topic title sounds so naughty...) So I was just on the subway with Jennifer Connolly and Paul Bettany and their baby. They got on at my station in Brooklyn Heights and were playing with their beautiful little boy. It was wonderful to see such attentive and loving parents,…

Quoted from "Monsignore" Mike D. was in the store yesterday.
I can't believe that no one replied to this sighting.
I would freak the f & out if i had a Beastie Boys celebrity encounter. I had a dream about them last week though....I was spooning Mike D... but in the dream I thought, "Adrock is the one I've always thought is cute, why aren't I spooning him instead?"

Opps, sorry for taking so long to get back. I had forgotten I posted those pics until just now when I was downloading some other pics and saw them in my folder.
YES, it is Rick Springfield.
I wish my friend had gotten pics of what she called the "skanky 50 year old gal, dressed like she was 20" who was all giggly and telling everyone she was gong to "get to go to his room!"

When I was a freshman way back in the mid eighties my RA was friends with Mike D. I remember he stuck his head in our dorm room held up a can of soup and said, Soups on!

Quoted from "Monsignore" James Lipton was in the store the other day. The guy who helped said he had an odd accent that led him to think it was someone else.

Met and chatted a bit with Garrison Keillor this evening at an ice cream shop in my neighborhood. He learned that I live in his neighborhood and that we have a friend in common (both of these things news to him, though not to me.)

Encounter #1
I was at Greaters Ice Cream with a play area in Columbus OHio in the winter to let my 3 year old wear herself out. A bunch of people came in with some kids....A lady sat across from me and I couldn't stop looking at her.
Finally asked "Has anyone ever told you you look Just Like Shirley MacLaine?" She replied with a huge grin "Honey, every day of my life" At which time all the people she was with just all fell on the floor laughing. IT WAS HER!!! I think I turned every shade of red imagineable. I really could have gushed but maintained my not so cool cool.
Had I known I would NEVER have said a word... She was really very kind. I left her alone but she made a point to go out of her way to play with my then 3 year old daughter. Truly a brush with greatness.
Encounter #2
I also fed Eddie Money's band at a festival in Pickerington, OH a few years back. His stage manager and best friend took a real liking to my then 9 year old daughter Lockie. From the moment I introduced her my daughter Jayne and I were just like chopped liver...we got to sit back stage and every time the guys walked by they said "Hi Lockie, Bye Lockie" and then when it was our turn to meet Eddie I introduced myself and Jayne and he looked at the little one and said "You must be Lockie...I've heard a lot about you today!" He extended his hand to shake hers and she just hugged him. It was very sweet. As the band was boarding the bus they took the time to seek us out just to say goodbye to Lockie...telling her "We'll never forget you, there's only one Lockie". I was so happy for her as usually people make over Jayne and don't even notice Lockie she was really a star that day and I bet those guys would know her today. All very nice and his daughter Jessie is beautiful, talented and was so sweet to us......
Encounter #3
Back in 1978 I was at a Rick Derringer concert at a local bar and my friend was doing sound. After the show he announced to my best friend and I the Rick Derringer was available to meet and greet with pretty girls. He kissed us on the cheek. Very nice and extremely short. HANG ON SLOOPY!!!
Encounter #4
My former husband got Chris Carter's autograph at Japanese Steakhouse....nice guy!

Was singing at a Food and Wine Festival on Royal Street, and Maggie Gyllenhall and daughter sat down for a couple of songs, ate their hot dogs, tipped us and walked away. Later that night, she was at The Spotted Cat, along with Tim Robbins (who's a regular at the Cat).

Just passed Joseph Gordon-Levitt getting out of his trailer on CPW and 102nd st. They're shooting a big film "Premium Rush" in central park across the street from my building. Been here a couple days.

Just walked past Susan Sarandon on 23rd between Park & Madison. She was walking with some tall guy. I didn't see his face.
James Lipton was in the store the other day. The guy who helped said he had an odd accent that led him to think it was someone else.
