This year we have FOUR awesome bands: The Boilermaker Jazz Band will open things up for us again on Friday night, followed by a special late-night surprise band. The Tom Cunningham Orchestra will bring down the house at Glen Echo Saturday night, and The Midiri Brothers will keep us dancing through the wee morning hours. If you arrive early, you can opt to pay a few dollars extra and experience the fantastic jam cellar, with a special vinyl night dance Thursday night. It's a music-packed weekend
Pre-registration sold out early last year, and folks without weekend passes were shut out of the late-night dances, so pre-registration is your gaurantee that you won't miss anything this year!
Visit www.DCLX.org to see the band and venue line-up, listen to sound clips, and register. Early Bird Registration pricingis $50, and is available until March 3rd. Don't miss your chance to save $10 off at-the-door prices, and gaurantee your entrance into every dance.

Oh man, last year I was only able to come to the afternoon dances, but they were such a blast! I'll never forget watching Mike Marcott dance around with a stereo on his head at Dupont Circle (long story). I'm definately registering for the whole weekend this time, though I may be begging for rides from venue to venue (look for the tall man with sideburns). See you all here!

OK, I just registered. Grasshopper, I don't know how you talked me into two Exchanges two weekends in a row. Seriously, I think I hate you just a little bit.
This is going to be my first time dancing in DC since that infamous incident in November of 1999. It's historical!

Tip on doing two exchanges back to back (I did cleveland to STLBX), make sure you get some sleep on sunday night (even if it is just in the car). Cause going to class after having driven through illinois and indiana and only getting like 2 hours of sleep in the back seat of a car, really not so fun (5-6 hours would have been sooo much better).
And I'll be at DCLX! And so will Aleks from Columbus and Josh from Indiana somewhere. I'm working on getting more of columbus there. It will be so good to see so many friends there, and meet so many new ones. And I'll have just come off of a fast dancing workshop a couple of weeks before.

We're working on the t-shirt design now. I'll do my best to have it approved and posted before the March 3rd early registration deadline. No promises though - working with t-shirt printers is a pain. If we don't get it up by then, I'd recommend going ahead and registering so you get the early bird price, and you don't get closed out. We did sell out last year, and from the numbers so far, it looks like we will again. You can always buy the t-shirt separately on-line later (I'm pretty sure), or buy one at the event itself.
Mugsy, you'll have a blast. :) We have bands playing ALL night for the first time - Boilermakers, Tom Cunningham, Midiri Brothers, and an awesome Fri night late night surprise band that I'm excited about.

Meh. I did Austin and St. Louis last year having cleared Sunday night being up 41 hours straight. Sure, Monday sucked, but I kind of knew that was going to happen. ;)
DCLX is still incredibly up in the air right now ... I won't know more until I start getting more money. Time is still fine for now, though.

If you're flying in from Chicago, Ted (United's discount airline) has a super cheap fare sale - although they misrepresent it to look like it's only 59, it's really about 136 round trip.

I'll be there. I've been planning on being there ever since last year's DCLX. And if someone knows Joe Templin, please get him there somehow, even if it is just for one event!

I just signed up under a new name with no problem, just to test it out. As far as i can tell, there is nothing wrong with the website. I would advise that you and your friends try again from a different browser or computer, using a new handle. You shouldn't have any problems. If you do, pm me with the error message that you are getting and we'll go from there.

Yay Tim's coming! Bring the rest of Rochester/RIT/UofR with you! And grab some Geneseo people too. I miss you guys.
I managed a whole night of fast dancing in cleveland without feeling tired and after it was over I wanted more, so this hopefully means I'll be ready for DC. Although if there is a blues room at late night, I may need to visit it and not come out for a while...
