Shiyrah reports that housing assignments for CTLX went out this weekend. If you don't know where you're sleeping yet, check your email. If you still don't know where you're sleeping, email Shiyrah, because my futon is very small. That email would be housing squiggly little sign that means "at" ctlx.org.

Quoted from "Queen Victoria" And somebody better bal with me!!
That reminds me... can someone help me out with the bal turns? I can do the basic competently, but after 4 and a half minutes that can get pretty old.

I'm assuming you mean a come-around, Keither. I can absolutely help you with that!!! It is all about holding 4 and 7. Holding 4 is also used in transitioning into a throwout. I learned paddles, lollies, walks, and a little break step at ABW, too, so we can work on those if you'd like. ABW was AWESOME!! It helped me understand bal, which is a huge comfort.
I will be the CTLX dancer with braids wrapped around her head. If you can't find me ask ronbo97 or penguinlust.

So much is happening that I think I forgot to mention...
If you've got beginners, bring 'em to the Saturday night dance! Greg Avakian and Laurie Zimmerman from Philly will be our instructors for the beginner lesson at 7:30 PM! (I mean, as if hearing Paul and the lads wasn't enough reason for them to come!)

I think we should ALL show up for it. It's a good warmup! And could you imagine their expressions when the beginner class has a few hundred lindyhoppers? ;-)

Tomorrow at this time I will be on a bus to CT!! WooHoo!
This is going to be awesome enough, plus Greg AND Laurie there for a lesson!?!?!? Body lead, body lead......
Just purchased new sneakers for the outside venue.

OK, online registration was supposed to end nine hours ago, but there was still demand for it, so I've extended it to midnight tonight (EDT)... Get it while you can if you haven't gotten it by now.

Wow! Earl May's Quintet really wowed the crowd last night! And our DJs really rocked the sushi bar this morning. It was a shame we had to end at 5 AM...
Why am I awake and posting to yehoodi?
Oh, you all should totally come join us for Paul tommorrow ... um.. tonight.

Forgive my laziness for just copying this from swingmonkey, but I want to say thanks here, too:

OK, now that I've had a whole 6 hours or so of sleep--which feels like a full night's sleep at this point!--and before I finish trying to catch up on my email and errands... I know we tried to thank all the folks we could remember in the program guide, but I just have to add a few of my own personal thank yous for the weekend.
First of all, thanks to all the DJs. When you have eight people who care so much about sharing great music, most of the secret to "organizing" them is getting out of the way. ;) Ditto for all our wonderful performers.
The same goes for all our great musicians. I'm always impressed that folks who are so talented are also the classiest, nicest, most professional cats around. I hope that we'll have a chance to see Earl May again here in CT, and I'm psyched that the Love Trio will be back for ALHC soon! I also hope that those who missed Hot Cat on Sunday night will come back to see them another time--the real measure of a band is not how they perform for a big crowd, but the kind of energy they bring to a small one.
Thanks, Jester, Daveybaby, and Remnent, for completing the "swinglovers.com" sound reinforcement team. Without Wil anchoring the afternoon spots, I wouldn't have slept at all. And without David and Tony packing up all the microphones and cables and deciphering how the heck all that crap fits into my Bonneville, I never would have had the late nights set up anywhere close to on time. And thanks to Kels, Beth, and everyone else who carried a speaker or two along the way.
Joy, my sanity and I thank you from the bottom of our heart.
Finally, although we appreciate the support of all the swing dance socities in CT, I think I speak for the whole CTLX board of directors when I say that there'd be no CTLX if it weren't for the CT Swing Dance Society. Please come back to CT on July 9th for their annual member party (not just for members!), when "all" I'll be doing is DJing and able to visit with the many of you to whom I barely had time to say "hello" or "I can't talk right now"...

And housing notices went out yesterday, so if you think you should've gotten one, and didn't... let me know
If you think you might like a hotel... the two I'll suggest
if you don't want to spend a lot, the EconoLodge in New Haven
http://www.econolodge.com/ires/hotel/ct026
or, a hotel with Jacuzzi tubs in their spa rooms for a little more, the Fairfield Inn in New Haven

Yay! Remember, don't be shy--dance with your friendly organizers when you can actually find them on the dance floor! :)
Oh but of course Rob! Don't worry, I shall keep my eyeballs peeled

Woo! I get to leave soon.....but alas, not until friday :green:
We start dancing today!!!
reeeeeeally wish i were going...Why do the salsa congresso AND groovie Movie have to be the same weekend here in DC?
it could be worse... like being in nowheresville to dance.
We started dancing last night! And the weekend will only get better!!!
Yeah! Leaving in an hour...Don't anyone start having fun 'till I get there... My dilemma Route 15 or I-95 ?
15 will take you really north of where you want to end up... Take 95, and if it sucks, follow US1
