Albeit ballroom dancing, but still... QuoteABC has ordered six episodes of the US version of BBC's series Strictly Come Dancing, per Variety. The show takes eight celebrities and pairs them with professional dancers, and after learning how to dance "properly", they compete in a…

Does anyone think this show will be back for another season? I'm surprised by the number of dancers willing to clear their schedules for a dance show. I've managed to catch a few minutes of it. Every Wednesday I get called/harassed by the gaggle ballroom girls, all insisting that I tune in.

I think Kelly has a shot if John as to move his Irish hips.
I'm also excited that Rachael Hunter & Evandar "The Real Deal" Holyfield will be returning to dance exhibitions. Not that they were particularly good dancers, but, hey, I just liked them.

I have one last thing to say in this thread. There is a reason why I like this show SO much more than American Idol. And that is because American Idol humiliates people with talent who want to be famous. THIS show is just the opposite. Now we get to see famous people get humiliated for trying to have talent. And that is a scream.

The updated version of what's going down tonight:
Quote It all comes down to this: a dance-off between the multitalented John O'Hurley (and his partner, Charlotte Jorgensen) and General Hospital star Kelly Monaco (and her partner, Alec Mazo). Each couple will perform its most memorable routine of the series: John and Charlotte will perform their quickstep routine, while Kelly and Alec will reprise their samba. Each couple will also do a freestyle dance which, unlike previous dances, is free of any rules or restrictions. They can perform any lifts or spins they'd like.
And in grand finale fashion, all of the previously eliminated celebrities return to perform one last time!

Aside from the lifts, I didn't think the level of difficulty was too impressive, plus there were a number of noticeable mistakes. She did well, but three 10s?

Seriously, where did those scores come from? I'd understand more if her rabid soap opera fans carried her to victory, but she certainly didn't deserve 30/30 from the judges. Bah!

Announcer: "And the winning couple in Dancing with the Stars is..."
Me: "If America has any sense, it'll be John and Charlotte."
Adam (next to me on the couch): "Yeah, well, look who our President is."
Announcer: "...Kelly and Alec!"

I found Charlotte very hot and really more beautiful than Kelly when she danced, because of her chemistry on and off the floor with John, and because she's naturally gorgeous. Kelly was hot because she showed a lot of skin; I did not enjoy any of the performances I saw her do.
Dancing With The Stars (Was Dancing on Network TV?!?!?)

John O'Hurley Made it onto the Best Week Ever. VH1 is rooting for him, so maybe he has a chance.

It's been posted before, but it deserves to be posted again. You can at least see the performances and the judges' reviews
The updated version of what's going down tonight:
Man, that means it's gonna suck!
I liked John's Paso Doble better than any of the others. He should do that one again.

How the heck did Kelly get 30/30?! She had some flashy moves, fanciness, and so forth, but she messed up a few times.
Why do I care so much?
If John and Charlotte don't win, I'll be convinced this is rigged. It will disappoint me as much as the two Average Joes!
-j
I agree. I will be sad if John Doesn't win. I really dont think he will lhave beaten her with the audience votes.
Aside from the lifts, I didn't think the level of difficulty was too impressive, plus there were a number of noticeable mistakes. She did well, but three 10s?
Especially not with her getting 10s.
-j
RIGGED!!!!!
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
So much for quality dancing being celebrated on television.
-j
What score did kelly get on the first dance?
John had 27 27 = 54
Kelly had ?? 30 = ??
I zoned out or something
Oops, should have posted here.
Yeah, I cannot BE-LIEVE they got tens! John and Charlotte had a superior dance in ways that go beyond strong lifts and back walkovers... HRMPH
Regis was wrong. Kelly wins.
She had a 56.
It's only because she's hot. That's the only reason. But she is really hot.
-j
And cause she did handstands in her little hotpants and splashed around in the pool!
Seriously, where did those scores come from? I'd understand more if her rabid soap opera fans carried her to victory, but she certainly didn't deserve 30/30 from the judges. Bah!
She is a hottie, though.

nice call, mouth. dead on.
Gah.
Bears. Beets. Battlestar Galactica.
This seems perfectly natural. Ballroom competitions are not complete without essential evil characters and injustice.
