Inspired by the Pet Peeves thread, I remembered something a very very cute girl told me after a dance we had QuoteA dance is the most fun either if your partner is cute or if he's a good dancer. And you're both! This is about a year ago but it still warms my heart thinking about it. So, has…

Best compliment I ever got was from another follow who said she loves to watch me dance.
And I was leading one time and the girl, who is a very good dancer herself, told me that I was a better lead than a lot of the guys she dances with.
And one more, I don't know if this is a compliment, per se, but I was in a new venue for me and I asked this guy to dance who was totally awesome, and he seemed reluctant at first, but then he enthusiastically asked me to dance the next song. A regular later told me that he was the head instructor there.

The compliment that made me feel the best actually came a year after the event. A follow came up to me at a Pier 25 event and said:
I was at Phil's last year just learning to dance and was having a really bad time. I was on the verge of giving it up when I danced with you. You danced me all around the floor always smiling no matter what I did. You made me feel like I was special and that I could dance. It was so much fun that from that point on I was hooked.
I still smile big time when I think of that and thanked her profusely for telling me. It guess it just goes to show that you don't have to be the worlds best lead to share the Joy of dance with someone.

One night a few months ago, my friend Linda and I were leaving the dance floor at a local club, when a lady stopped us. She said "I'm 92 years old. I was born and raised in New York and I've lived in Los Angeles for the past 40 years, and I just had to tell you that you are the best dancers I've seen since I was a teenager."

The following compliment is probably the most memorable I've ever received. It was given to both me and my partner by one of the Nobel Prize winners at the Nobel Prize Party a number of years ago:

A dancer who is known for his frank honesty in assessing other people's dancing told me THREE times how much he enjoyed a dance we had. Gushingly. In front of other people. :D

this past weekend in SFLX, I got from several leads "You're really a lot of fun to dance with," which considering I still find myself to be a new person to the scene made me very happy :D

of course the very best compliment I ever received was by a well-known nyc lindyhop gal instructor who said "you are one was one of the best leads I ever danced with." (swoon)
What's the best compliment you've received at a dance?

Well your wife is one of the best dancers in the world, IMO. Sad that no one on Yehoodi knows her.
"I like how you understand how many times you can spin during a phrase. Most of the follows here don't get that."
I should go dancing more this summer before he heads back to school.
"Oh my God. She was right. Dancing with you is as good as chocolate and sex!"
Never did find out who she was, where she was from, or the person who had told her that.

Rock.
After dancing to a really fast song with a friend at Bal Rendezvous a follow came up to us and said "I never really wanted to learn Balboa until now!"
"That was divine."
WRT to dancing with Damon/Damon in general:
Truth.
At the Montreal Lindy Exchange!
"Excellent, as always." Yay! What a nice compliment.
Um. Isn't this thread about the best compliment you've ever received?

Chocolate and sex!!! I guess I'll have to learn to follow.
They usually tell me that I look like I'm trying to have sex with chocolate.
