I interviewed a local woman for a story, and she has the same last name as 1) some family friends and 2) my favorite college prof.
I asked if she had relatives who live in Ga, and after a minute, we realized my prof is her uncle! yay! i haven't talked to him in a few years, but he always comes to this region in summers, where he has a farm, and he'll be here within a few weeks. So we told a few stories and she gave me his mailing address. Hopefully I can go visit him and his wife on this thus-far-mythical "upstate NY farm" I've always heard about.

Yesterday at work, my hair was really starting to annoy me, so temporarily I put it in a ponytail, which I hate, b/c even the nice elastic bands cause my hair alot of breakage.
I commented - absentmindedly - to the girl who sits across from me that what I really needed was one of those clips with teeth to put my hair up in.
So this morning, I walk in to find that she bought me a hairclip and left it on my desk.

there was this prof I had in college who was my quartet coach. She was a B_TCH. For some reason (and i never knew why) she hated me. She'd make fun of me in front of the group for no reason, and at one point she even made me cry. Which takes a lot. I'm pretty tough and I take criticism pretty damn well after years and years of it. So anyways, i basically got her fired after awhile, when i made a big deal out of the abuse and wouldnt let it slide.
I ran into her today, at a session that we both were hired for at Warner Bros. We're working on the SAME film soundtrack. She saw me and came up to me and said, "oh you look familiar. Do I know you? Where do I know you from?" I said, "oh probably APU. (knowing full well who she was and where i knew her from the MOMENT i saw her) I think you were my quartet coach." She looks at me, in shock, and says, "Oh yeah. So what are you doing here? Do you play an instrument?"
Now THAT was funny. I'm sitting on a couch at Warner Bros in the post production building on the scoring stage, hanging out and talking to the other musicians that I know, and she asks me if I play an instrument? LOL. At this point I'm thinking, "you can kiss my violin playing ss!"
So i respond to her, "actually i play the violin. Remember? You were my quartet coach."
She says, "so what other stuff are you doing? Are you working?" (no, i'm at warner bros for my freaking HEALTH) And I say, "In fact, I'm contracting for Sony and I tour with Burt Bacharach. I'm also doing work for Debi Datz and playing in a couple symphonies. Not to mention I've got an agent, a manager and my own record in the works."
She looked SO FREAKING SHOCKED it was hilarious. I swear to god, if i could freeze frame the look on her face and put it on my wall i'd have a good laugh every day.

So this morning, on a whim, I decide to try on my white button down shirt. I've lost some weight and was curious to see if it me, as it has not fit me for about a year-ish. Well guess what!! It fits great!! Woo hoo!!
And what is even better, is that I was having trouble keeping my pants up while I looked for my belt. Yes!!
However it must be said that I tried on the skinny pants last night. While I was able to fit in them (somewhat comfortably) the effect it had on my side and tummy areas was not cute. Wasn't even tryin to be cute. Oh well. . . guess that is just something else for me to work to.
Oh, and I got the new Super Mario Bros. game and reserved my DSLite last night too. While it wasn't unexepected, it was very cool.

actually its Talladega Nights and it's composed by Alex Wurman, same guy who did March of the Penguins, Anchorman, and a whole bunch of other films I've done as well. He's a good composer and the music is pretty. The movie looks HILARIOUS.

I got a phone call from a great friend of mine who told me that he and his wife are having a second child. (Their first is my godson.) He told me that the family had agreed that if the baby is a girl, then they are naming her Lisa Marie. After going on and on about how happy this made me, I stepped back and said, "I know you're not naming the baby after me, but I still think it's really cool." He responds, "Actually, you are 98 of the reason why." He then went on to shower me with love, compliments, and cool stories about me. I'm still so overwhelmed.
Of course, this guarantees that the child will be born a boy. At least I'll always have the story.

Most of it is swing; and one has "20's dance music."

After discovering that my tag is over 2 months expired I tried to get it renewed today at lunch. Only to find out that my proof of insurance card was destroyed last time I accidentally washed my wallet.
I then came back to the office frustrated, and called State Farm.
The very lovely lady I spoke to said that she would have another set of cards mailed out to me, and offered to fax a temporary letter proving that I have ins. coverage.
Also, I e-mailed my boss (who is extremely difficult to get a hold of) who replied back and said that I can leave early to get it taken care of before they close. Yippie!
I only hope that the office will take the temporary info I have as proof. I really don't want to drive to Jax and back this weekend on an expired tag.

Because I'm the luckiest person on the planet, we had the license plate number of the guy who ran a red light and hit my car, and several witnesses stepped forward and gave statements to the police along with phone numbers. One guy in a hummer followed the hit and run guy so that the police could find him easier AND came back and gave a statement to the police!!
The police didn't do too much but my insurance company has been wonderful! My car is fixed and my deductable is going to be refunded because they found that the guy is insured, by my insurance company! Yay!! Go State Farm!!
