OK, I'd like to whine a bit about a recent disappointing close encounter with a fellow Yehoodite. I was pretty excited because I'm quite enamored with this person's posts. In fact, as I was walking over to her, I was debating whether I should just ask for a dance or go for the gusto and ask…

televandalist, I just wanted to know how long you have been dancing? It's always hard to be rejected when you ask someone to dance but after a while it softens and maybe you won't even think about it the next time.
Back a few years ago, I was embarrassed by a follow who did not just say no to turn me down; and it messed me up for a long time after. (I even whined about it on yehoodi too.). It really wasn't because she said no to me twice in two hours but on the second time that evening when I asked, she made it sound very logical as to why I shouldn't dance with her and I couldn't argue with that. It probably would have been better if she had just said "no."
Well anywho, to make a long story short, I have not asked her to dance again in maybe 4 years now and although the incident is long behind me and I haven't quite gotten around to openly asking people to dance and its bad for me because then I look the dance snob for it.
A couple of months ago, I had a really enjoyable dance with a follow from out of town who upon dancing with me asked why we have never met before. I can't remember exactly what I said, but it went something like that it just wasn't in the cards but now we can dance lots and lots and we just hugged like old friends.
The truth to it was that I have met her years ago but she had forgotten. When I asked her to dance, she turned me down flat and I just didn't get the chance to ask her again before the night dancing was done. I could have told her the truth and made the moment awkward but it really wasn't worth it. Its better to dance happy and leave it at that. I know I feel better in making the right choice.

Quoted from "Spencer" I had a girl in Montreal who didnt know me, tell me "Non, I cannot. My shoes are...broken" She then danced with the next guy that asked her a minute later. There were less than 10 people there.
She danced with a MacGyver like guy after he fixed her shoe ? :dunno:

Note to self: next time you're at a venue where Swifty's in attendance, walk over to him and don't tell him who you are, but check out his crotch.
Damn, I should've done that at DCLX instead of saying, "Hey, didn't I meet you in Chicago four years ago?" Smooth.

I don't know who you think you are, but Swifty and I are a team. It's terribly inappropriate for you to ignore Swifty and pay attention to me. I am not an object, and neither is Swifty. We are a unit, and you would do well to recognize that.
Although I am funnier than he is. It's like Samson and his hair, except different.

You're welcome to it. Me, I prefer uncharted territory.
Sweetpea.. that experience was far worse than "dissappointing".
