On the other hand, I remember learning a lot of those very moves as "difficult" East Coast things right at the same time I was taking a lot of lindy classes (and really sticking with them and working hard), so because of the similarity of moves (though the particular style of the rock-step is much more extended in the arms than what I happened to learn & do at the time), I see it and smile and see myself in it. :)
(Except in those rock step arms. Boy, do they look painful.)

It's true, the point isn't to make fun of people who are beginners . . . or any one for that matter.
It's actually meant as a friedly poke at the broad term that "swing dancing" covers in our society, especially to those that are unfamiliar with lindy hop, balboa, shag, and charleston.
But I also think that appropriate videos include those of someone putting themselves on a stage, or victums of a dance class from a teacher who really doesn't know anything about swing dancing, as long as we recognize it's not the dancers fault, mearly the people that taught them.
After all, we all had to start some where, and I'm sure I'm not the only one with a zoot suit skeleton in my closet!
