I was gonna ask if anyone knew what that dance really was. Someone posted another video earlier that was labeled "lindy hop" that had that same sharp-kick thing going on. I wonder where and by whom that's being taught as lindy hop and how the confusion began in the first place. It doesn't look anything like lindy hop.

Update

How can you put this up on a stage? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sWyHXwbcq0c

If you've seen one routine to Sing, Sing, Sing, you've seen em' all. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Do5HNhuIsGI

I'd go here just to play shuffle board! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WxaoQDCzGGo

Awww, they're so cute! I wish my mom had yelled at me like that. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=662x5S1MWRU

I was trying to decide whether or not this qualified as "the swing" since it is technically Lindy Hop. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nGCBe4z3Kyo

huh?! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OGSFFsNPiFo

Swing This (no, it should be Tap This) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jJ7SZQx3GhA

Black and White Video makes everything look cool! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tHLK19ki92E

This is a spam video, but I thought it was funny they used the following tags: "West Coast Swing Dance Dancing Benji Schwimmer Heidi Groskreutz" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C__ZULKey34

This video hurts my head. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4ttag5tjAyE

My friends that was a whole lot of Jig Walkin' and Jig Kicks... They are definitely in the Arthur Murray "swing" dance step list. --R

Are they really performing or just marking the choreography? Even a corpse wouldn't be that stiff.

I wasn't such a great dancer when I started teaching, but I didn't go posting clips of myself on the internet.

Alexander in the video above may not have been much of a leader, but he had a great view from his height.

Ah the wonders of YouTube cross-reference links... Did you know there's evidently a show called "Baby Ballroom" that is dedicated to preteens do a televised ballroom comp? Sounds like some perverts' idea. Can't wait for the US import version...

Well, here's a couple doing a jitterbug to "Wake Me Up Before You Go Go"....http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ESTyfaIDkGc

That was actually pretty good. I mean, not good good, but really good for beginners. I didn't see any lindy hop, though, just Charleston and misunderstood air steps.

I'll forgive the cross cultural confusion. But, given who they are and what they're dancing to, all hail the Swing Study - Grupo de Dan a Rafael Oliveira

I really love how couples just run out to the front and stop and wait for the beat before doing their one trick, running to the back afterward. i

Oh man. I had to stop watching about half way through. Can we also mock that guy for wearing a shirt that's way too small and has horizontal stripes (not so flattering on those who carry their extra weight in the middle) and way too tight jeans?

Though, seriously, that could have been me three or four years ago. I don't claim any moral superiority here.
