Dear Friend of Frankie,
Help make Frankie's book a national bestseller on his birthday!
As you should know by now, Frankie Manning’s autobiography, The Ambassador of Lindy Hop, co-written by Cynthia Millman, is hitting the shelves soon. We are super-excited to finally get to read this important piece of Lindy Hop history.
What better gift to Frankie than seeing his autobiography pop to the top of Amazon.com's best-seller's list on May 26, his 93rd birthday?
If you'd like to be part of this international campaign, go to Amazon.com and order Frankie Manning: Ambassador of Lindy Hop on May 26.
If you have already pre-ordered the book, consider ordering another copy as a gift for a friend. If you know of others who might be thinking of getting the book, pass the message along!
More information, including a special Bonus package for those who order the book on May 26, coming soon on the new FrankieManning.com.

Here's a message I sent to those very much out of the know.
Quote Hello all,
As many of you know, I'm an active swing dancer (Lindy Hopper). Recently in the dance world one of our luminaries, Franky Manning, has had a Biography published about him. His birthday is coming up in two days, May 26th, and a worldwide effort is being made to celebrate him and his contributions by attempting to make his book a top ten seller, if not the top, on Amazon.com on May 26th. Below is a description of the book. For further information please check out the site http://frankiemanning.com
On that site is also a video of him that is really quite lovely and includes some early film of him dancing that has to be seen to be believed.
Please let friends and family know about this effort as well.
Many thanks,
Adrian
Quote In the early days of swing dancing, Frankie Manning stood out for his moves and his innovative routines; he created the "air step" in the Lindy hop, a dance that took the U.S. and then the world by storm. In this fascinating autobiography, the choreographer and Tony Award winner (Black and Blue) Frankie Manning recalls how his first years of dancing as a teenager at Harlem's Savoy Ballroom led to his becoming chief choreographer and a lead dancer for "Whitey's Lindy Hoppers," a group that appeared on Broadway, in Hollywood musicals, and on stages around the globe. Manning brings the Swing Era vividly back to life with his recollections of the crowded ballrooms, and of Lindy hoppers trying to outdo each other in spectacular performances. His memories of the many headliners and film stars, as well as uncelebrated dancers with whom he shared the stage, create a unique portrait of an era in which African American performers enjoyed the spotlight if not a star's prerogatives and salary.
Feel free to cut and paste or edit or whatever. The people I sent this to aren't on any swing board or have a clue what's going on in the swing community but I thought they might find the book interesting.
