Oooooh nooo. That's All Bal Weekend in Akron...last year nearly 40 of us fast-dancing NYers decamped and went to Ohio for this big event...same story this year I suspect (this is why Michael Arenella picked June 9th for Governors Island)....you may want to shift this again with that in mind...or not..I'd be so sorry to miss this Remix.
Heidi
This music is not too fast; you're just too damn slow.

Ok
we got lots of feedback about the June 17th date and decided to make an executive decision. It's very difficult to coordinate with all the dance events and not conflict. the 17th conflicted with Iguana, the Bal event in Ohio, and most importantly, Riz' event in Suburbia, NY.
We have pushed it back again to June 24th (sorry Beantowners)

Quoted from "Chivalrous" Oof. That's the same night as Richard Cheese. :(
Of course I appear to be the only person on this site who bought a ticket before it sold out, so I guess that won't affect you much.

Yeah, I'll actually be in town for this one.
For reasons beyond our control, we have pushed our 3rd Swing Remix back to June 24th.
However, it will be just as big, just as swinging, and the floor will be just as smooth.
We have also arranged for FREE Pedicab service to shuttle you from 8th avenue to the event and back. How you like me now?
The pedicab idea is soooo cool. I just wish your events weren't on Sunday. hugs

Sorry about that. We have to coordinate with other events in NYC, NYSDS, Iguana, and others. The 24th it is!
The Pedicabs will be waiting to pick you guys up on 29th and 8th. Two blocks from both train lines.
What else is going on on June 10th?

Stompology.
Correction, What else is going on in NYC on June 10th? SwingRemix got moved because of a solo-charleston workshop in Rochester. :o :dunno:

There was an event at SOL that was too important to the club. We were asked kindly to move our night back one week.
If we were to take every event on the east coast into consideration, in addition to the events in NYC, we would never be able to pick a night.
So, in order to make an omlette, ya gotta break eggs.
Sorry again to those who can't make it because our change in scheduling.

24th is perfect. Spencer you're amazing. It's on my calendar. And I'll be done with everything so I can stay late this time. Yay!!
So how's the pedicab gonna work, where do we go to meet it? How do we recognize it?
Ah, count me in...I'll show.

As posted on the Calendar. -Eff
For our workshops we are happy to have Matt Bedel and Laura Jeffers with Intermediate, and int/advanced level classes starting at 5pm.
For those advanced beginner dancers that would like to make the jump to Lindy, we are offering an introduction to Lindy class at 4pm as well.
Finally...one of these I can actually make it to. :D
FANTASTIC - I'll surely be there!! Hmmm.... now which pair of remix shoes should I wear? What a dilemma!
Pedi cabs?? Sweet, now I won't have to scruff up those purdy shoes! ;)
Calendar is updated.
