Quoted from "redbean" I have to say though, I think the video that Tommy posted is every bit as relevant to the conversation as the Deor video that was posted. :P

Quoted from "swinginstyle" ah hip hop lindy, a dance form that should have been banned immediately after conception
Disagree. I think it was/is important to show that partner dance concepts are adaptable to various contexts, and that lindy isn't just some dead art form we resurrected to preserve in amber.
That said, "lindy hip hop" as a recognized style was a bit flash-in-the-pan. :)
(Also, that clip shows that Damon rocks the hotness, even well outside the blues genre.)

I will go forward and agree with Damon about Atalanta.. but add that she is still fine today... even if any pictures I see of her seem to involve her butt sticking out a lot.
BTW if anyone liked my Video I posted.. Ozone and Special K will be offering blues classes at the VFW hall on Harlem in Cicero...

Please.. make no excuses for your butt, it isn't a bad thing :P
Note this comment is in no way representative of the Blues community, appreciation for Atalanta's butt comes only from personal choice and is not taught on the national blues scene

I don't know about you, but I've been to at least one "appreciate Atalanta's butt" class.

Quoted from "Atalanta" Ahem.
This shout-out goes to all those who think Damon is, was, and will always be some kind of uptight pendantic purist. 8)
YEah, I never got where that [bleep!] comes from. I steal and blend and experiment all the time. Sometimes the result is cool. Sometimes crap. Sometimes... well there ya go. I actually posted that clip on GBB and tore apart my dancing. Heh, I'm way harsher about my own dancing than anyone else's.

I don't really think of it as lindy hop, nearly as much as a lindy base for improvisation. I always preferred the term Hep-Hop or Street-Hop.
The truth is that during that time WCS hadn't really gotten into hip-hop, what they are doing to it now, is in a lot ways a more refined version of what we were doing 8-10 years ago.

Quoted from "maryx" Oh, there were just a lot of pointy toes in that clip. Also, it is my favorite quote from Stick It! - which btw is an awesome movie.
It isn't gymnicestics....
I enjoyed that film.. but not for it's witty writing
please note that TommyD76's lecherous views of the movie "Stick It!" are in no way representing the general mentality of the blues scene

So the question clearly has become: How MANY times will this thread take an absurd turn? :crash:
C'mon, Atalanta ... it's Yehoodi ... who did you think it was??!

This is Yehoodi. One can never be sure. :)
Where did there appear to be confusion on my part? Merely stating facts.
I have to say though, I think the video that Tommy posted is every bit as relevant to the conversation as the Deor video that was posted. :P
you mean "not at all?"
Exactly. :)
It took an absurd turn at conception. Everything after that was simply an acceptance issue.

This is so much fun :P
Oh the hotness of young Amy. Mmmmmm!
