Can I start this? The concept is that each person posts a song, or album, or band, or podcast, or whatever, that's just really good. Any genre. Either just post the name of it, or a link, or a little story, mini-review, whatever
I've been listening to Belle and Sebastian - Dear Castrophe Waitress on repeat for the last week or so. It's just hitting me in the right way. Everything but the first two tracks just sends me. Especially "If You Find Yourself Caught In Love." It's cheap on Amie St

"Cache Coeur Naif" by Mouse on Mars. One of their more accessible tracks. Contrast it with their "Varcharz" album. They're probably my favorite group. A lot of their stuff has been labeled as blip-hop, or glitch, or click-hop. Some of it can be, well, just start pokin' around. But I find it's the type of stuff I can really listen to, or have on as ambient music.

Now, you.
Really? I find the first two tracks to be the best on the album (which is one of my all time favorites).
The sound lies somewhere between glam rock, disco and alt rock (with some old-time thrown in for good measure) mixed with witty and/or dark lyrics.
I can't decide
Whether you should live or die
Oh, you'll probably go to heaven
Please don't hang your head and cry
No wonder why
My heart feels dead inside
It's cold and hard and petrified,
Lock the doors and close the blinds,
We're going for a ride!

Quoted from "Belle And Sebastian" She gave me some dictation
But my strength is in administration
I took down all she said
I even took down her little red dress
We need to talk
Step into my office, baby
I m going to give you the job
I m pushing for a raise
I ve been pushing now for days
The lyrics of that song might have been cute if written in the 60s or something, but now, it just makes me think of workplace sexual harrassment.

I'll have to check that out. I've always loved Eno's Music for Airports.
