Bill Nye the Science Guy swing dances?!

According to this NY Times article... Quote from the article: "Obsession: I love swing dancing. I go two nights a week, often four." He's THE science guy, he made his house completely green, and he swing dances. sigh If only he were younger and cuter.

I was completely bummed that he wasn't at LG when I DJ'ed earlier this year. I totally wanted to dance with him. Hopefully I'll get another shot. :)

I had no idea he was a dancer last time I DJed LG. I was standing on the stage and said to someone next to me (Marcelo?) "that guy looks a lot like Bill Nye the Science Guy." When he said "that guy IS Bill Nye the Science Guy" I'm sure I squealed like a little girl. A very geeky little girl.

Maybe I should repost this for dontmeanathing: The Tribulations Of Bill Nye: Hey, kids, see how the ice cracks and pops in your water? I wonder what causes that. AHEM I said, I wonder what causes ..." Know what? Maybe I just wanna enjoy my goddamn meal.

The Tribulations Of Bill Nye: Hey, Follow, see how when I bend over it slides my leg into your crotch? I wonder what causes that. AHEM I said, I wonder what causes ..." Know what? Maybe I just wanna enjoy my goddamn dance.

Follows who don't want to get wet shouldn't dance with me.

I went to LA to visit last year and went out dancing. Someone pointed him out and said "That's Bill Nye" Even though he looked like Bill Nye (duh!) I didn't believe it until I danced with him and he introduced himself as Bill. I looked down at his shirt and there was a name patch that said "Nye." He's a pretty good dancer. When I came home I passed the word around. He was supposed to attend Stompology last year, but something else came up. He's been in the area several times since then, but hasn't come out dancing yet.

Well, I'd say, just keep bumping the Stompology thread, as he's been on the East Coast a lot lately, and I know he keeps an eye on Yehoodi....I danced with him two weeks ago at BABBLE and that was his 2nd time in NYC in a month.

Yea, I can just imagine that he'd rock out over Stompology... Heidi

This music is not too fast; you're just too damn slow.

Bill! Bill! Bill! Bill!

And now he's got a new legion of Spanish-language fans now that his show is on Telemundo. "Bill el Cientifico!"

Man, I was so looking forward to him attending Stompology last year. It would certainly be a pleasant surprise if he were to show up this year :-)

For halloween, he dresses up as the consumer scare of the year. Lead paint last year, spinach the year before that (that was freakin' awesome)

this past year he was at the LG halloween dance... twice. someone else came as bill nye. of course, julius was there twice too. (drew came as julius. it was awesome. i got to ditch my husband (drew) and go home with a handsome sailor (julius).

I'm sad I missed him at BABBLE. One of my friends grabbed me all starstruck and said- Bill Nye's here. He Dances? I said cool- I know-but where is he. and that was the end. Next time I'll try and get a dance with him when he's here.

Bill Nye danced on his television program. Has no one seen this? I knew he was a dancer years ago. He is from the old school of suspenders and black and white shoes.

I don't remember when the program went off the air. I would imagine Bill was dancing before the Gap commercial. He looked to me at the time like an East Coast 6 count dancer. It was still cool to see a celebrity swing dancing.

Another reason to love Bill!

I danced with him in DC about a decade ago. He was very east coast/college swing at the time. It's cool that he kept at it.

I always enjoyed his show, he made science cool, like Mr. Wizard back in the 50's (no I wasn't alive then).

Seems like a fungi errrr.... I mean fun guy.
