Yes, they definately knew each other. I asked Judy Pritchett if she and Frankie had been over to the Louis Amstrong House/Museum while they're hanging out these days in Corona, and she very graciously said that he hadn't since it become a museum, but had gone to the house when Louis was alive. Gulp..of course. Wow...
Oh, and to respond to the post..I'm officially shouting out..I have blocked out this week and will be here with Joe whooping it up with all you all!
This music is not too fast; you're just too damn slow.

I appreciate that lots of folks are cutting back on their expenses all around, given the times. Keep in mind that its five packed days and nights of events, not just a weekend event. So 200 is pretty damn cheap.
We're expecting to sell out, but tickets to at least some of the events will be on sale individually later.
Anyway, please resume shoutouts if you are coming!
Yeah ok so I'm crunched for cash-ola too.... but seriously? This is a once in a lifetime thing! So, I'm all signed up and am just thinking of the 5 day event as a birthday present to myself.
:P
Yay! Can't wait..... 7&8 come out and celebrate my birthday with me.... and Frankie! Weeeeee!

Understandable, but Thursday and Friday are work days (at least for me), so I'm looking at it as a weekend. In reality, I probably won't be able to dance/go out day and night for five days in a row.
I'll just have to wait to look at individual tickets. Hopefully, there will be tickets available for the saturday night dance.

I guess from one point of view, it makes sense that it's a week-long event. And in that sense 200 is a hell of a deal. However this event makes no distinction between the travel-to-every-Lindy-event crowd and the maybe-I'll-go-to-one-dance-weekend-a-year crowd.
Hey! How about this... if the ratio of blues events you've attended in the last three months to Lindy events you're attended in the last three weeks is greater than 1, the event is 500. If it's less than 1, it's 50.

Other than his book signing, this will be the first major Frankie Manning event that I will attend - seriously contemplating getting the shiny stockings package. I can only think it's going to be awesome.

Hey, ya'lls, please take chat about registration costs and other questions to another thread. This is more for just shout-outs of who is planning / hoping on coming. Thanks.

I'll be at a lot of the events, but not all. Sounds awesome!
Some of the classes. All of the dances. The comp sounds fun. I'll wait and see which is cheaper (at the door for what I can attend) or the whole package. Need to wait until about February to register. Sounds like a rocking party.

I'll be there!
I know first off 200 sounds steep but the man only turn 95 once. On top of that, the venue is nice, have 12 bands, on top of 5 days and nights worth of dances. That's not too shabby for that price.
Who's coming to Frankie's 95th Birthday Festival?
Do your shout outs here.

Registered, and ready to welcome the world back to New York City, Lindy Land.
I asked Frankie recently if Louis Armstrong ever played at the Savoy. He said not that he was aware of, but Frankie did work with Louis at some point.

Woo Hoo!!!
This is going to be the single most amazing, most inspiring, and most important lindy event of our generation of dancers. Period.
I have absolute confidence the world is going to rally around Frankie and come from all four corners to celebrate and honor this great man.
Thank you, Frankie, for being such an inspiration to me and thousands of other dancers.
I can't wait to celebrate with everyone! See you all soon!!!
I'll be there!!
I love Frankie, but with the holidays and everything, I can't afford to register. Kinda shocked that the early bird price is over 200 :(
How much are you guys estimating for the individual dances?

As of right now, neither Arthur nor I will be attending. If tickets are made available for individual dances, then we would attend.
Happy Birthday toooo meeee, Happy Birthday toooo meeeeee!

Fun! Fun! Fun! :D
Guess it's time to start scrimping and saving now! Can't wait. This is going to be soooo fantastic!
Yeah 200 is way too much. Oh well, I'm used to missing things.

If there are individual-night tickets, then I'll be there one of the days.

I'm working on it. Hopefully we can make 5 days in a row, but we're not used to so much dancing.

Count me in. I am going to take the week off from work.
I think this will be one for the ages.
Oh hellz yeah!
Do you know how awkward it is to have a political argument with a naked man?

Can't imagine not being there. New job might dictate daytime participation, but other than that, I'm very, very in.
I'll be there!

DEFINITELY!!!
I'm there :P
Don't forget to breathe - me
Probably won't make it to all the classes, but will definitely be there for all the dances! Hope my work schedule isn't too crazy that week!
(Will have to start saving now...)

I will be there. Wouldn't miss it!
To see that man's million-mega-watt smile, you betcha!
