Dear Yehoodites, after lots of planning and coding, we are very excited to announce that the new Yehoodi 3.0 site is about to launch! The new Yehoodi.com is going to retain all that you know and love about the current site: the discussion boards, calendar, news, radio show, podcasts, etc. But more than ever before, this site will be about the community, making it easier for everyone to add, rate, bookmark, and comment on swing stuff that you care about. Our goal is simply to create the best damn website to support lindy hop and to bring together the people that love it. This new site gets us closer to that goal more than ever before.
,
, We'll give you more info about Yehoodi 3.0 (beta) soon, including what you can currently do there, what to do if something breaks (yikes!), and what is coming down the pike. For now here's the general plan:
,

This week, December 21-25, we'll have both Yehoodi 3.0 and the current site (2.0) running. You can continue hanging out on the current Yehoodi, or you can spend time getting to know the new Yehoodi at this address: http://beta.yehoodi.com. Your user name and password should be the same as on the old Yehoodi. Note that all info you add to the new Yehoodi will probably get erased during this transition period.
,
Over the weekend of December 25-27 we'll take down both sites in order to import all of the discussions, events, and other information from the old site to the new one. While we are down, might I recommend that you join our Facebook group ?
,
Then on <strike>December 28</strike> January 4, 2010, Yehoodi 3.0 will be officially live!
We'll put up more info over the week. For now, we just want to thank all of you who participated in our beta testing process. This marks a major turning point for Yehoodi.com, and we couldn't have done it without your support and faith in us.

We're pushing back the launch a few days to work out some technical bugs and issues. But we'll be live on the first week of 2010 on Monday January 4th!

And this is why, in the software development world you never actually announce a launch date (other than 'soon').
btw- is www.yehoodi.com going to automatically redirect us to the new yehoodi?
yes ma'am. Whether you like it or not! :o

Yes, I'm going to spend hours crying over the loss of 2.0. Because this has all been such a raging success.
(I had asked because I was wondering whether I needed to bookmark yehoodi/dashboard, if this wasn't going to auto-redirect)
Please fix the black-on-brown tabs. They're impossible to read.

Well, one of us was right, anyway.
Pffft. You think this is complaining. Clearly, you don't know me that well.
This is mostly boredom.
Well enough to know that you'd rather bitch here than really move on to "greener pastures."
