Starting Tuesday, January 26, 2010, JJS plans to periodically hire teachers to teach short 3-week class series in blues dancing. Classes are likely to last 1-1.5 hours. Ideally we would like to add extra time at the end of classes for practica. Each series will depend on number of signups and teacher availability. The time of classes will also depend on these factors.
FIRST CLASS SERIES: BLUES BALLROOMIN' WITH JOSHUA BOROFF & DEVONA CARTIER
JJS hopes you all were inspired by the Blues Blaze Invitational competitions and will want to improve your blues dancing skills. Local Dance instructors, Devona Cartier & Josh Boroff have agreed to teach the first series. They have developed a specialty in slow drag and have been teaching it across the nation. We ought to take advantage of this expertise we have in our own back yard. They are very psyched to do this for us so we hope you all will jump on board.
INSTRUCTORS' CLASS DESCRIPTION:
Quote Slowdrag, Struttin, and Ballroomin' are staples in our dance canon; especially if the music has that hot, jazzy, dirge feeling, or is a sweet, cool, blues tune. We will go over the technique in these dances, add a number of different moves, turns, drags, and lifts, and toss in some musicality and style.

Price for entire 3-wk class series is a reasonable $45.
