It's been 8 years now that Yehoodi.com has been keeping the swing dance world together. We've seen a lot of changes over the years, but one constant that has remained has been the swingin', soulful voice of Miss Ernestine Anderson. Her classic "I Love Being Here with You", and many, many other songs, have filled dance floors night after night, year after year. To celebrate Yehoodi.com's 8 years of swingin' (especially to Ernestine's music), we are excited and honored to announce that on Saturday, Sept 30th, for the first time in front of a live audience of swing dancers, Ernestine Anderson will be performing at the Yehoodi 8th Anniversary Party. And, to put the icing on the cake, joining her up on stage and making his 4 consecutive Yehoodi Anniversary Party appearance will be the legendary Junior Mance and his trio.

Yehoodi.com thanks you for your overwhelming support (and countless discussions!) over the past 8 years. We cannot think of a better way to celebrate on 9/30 than with Ernestine, Junior, and YOU!

Of course, Yehoodi University returns for its second year during Sat and Sun afternoon. Consider the weekend to be a celebration of "The Kitchen Sink." Yehoodi U is a community driven collection of classes and activities by your fellow swing dancers. It will include the return of the very popular picnic in Central Park on Sunday.

FRIDAY NIGHT, SEPT 29

Jelly Roll Productions will be kicking things off with a special event Friday night: Double the Swing, Double the Fun!

The Earl May Quintet & The Roy Meriwether Trio

That's right, TWO live bands will be featured on Friday Sept 29th to kick-off the exciting weekend. No DJed band breaks – when one takes a break, the other goes on! Earl May has been a part of the Yehoodi Anniversary weekend for the past three years, and it's a pleasure to have his swingin' vibe with us again this year. And we are honored that Roy Meriwether will be making his debut for swing dancers. He plays a unique blend of swing, soul, blues, and gospel – what a treat this is going to be!

Ending the weekend of excitement will be a special evening by the New York Swing Dance Society, now in it’s 21st year of swingin’ away!
