Dancers Uplift the Black Roots (and Future) of Lindy Hop

I’m incredibly excited to share with you this wonderful video produced by KQED Arts on lindy hop and its African American cultural roots, featuring Columbus-based dancers Tyedric Hill and Shannon Varner. Plus a bunch of other dancers you will probably recognize!

Special thanks to Tena Morales and the rest of the International Lindy Hop Championships folks for your support and footage.

I had a very small part in this production as an adviser and author of the introductory article. All credit goes to the incredible KQED Arts team, particularly Masha Pershay and Kelly Whalen, for their intrepid and tireless work on this.
